ONEONTA, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Maddux Little '27 scored a career-high five goals and the Continentals posted an impressive 21-6 non-conference win against the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons at Oneonta's All College Field on Tuesday evening, April 15.
Season Update
- Hamilton (6-7 overall) won for the third time in its last four games.
- Oneonta (6-8), which is 3-1 in the State University of New York Athletic Conference, gave up a season high in goals.
How It Happened
- The Continentals wasted no time getting on the board, scoring just 59 seconds into the opening quarter and never looking back. Thomas Healy '26 netted two of Hamilton's first three goals and helped the team jump out to a 3-0 lead with 11:08 remaining in the first.
- After giving up a goal to the Red Dragons, Hamilton answered with five straight goals. Milo Trabulsy '25, Justin Pearl '25 and Jesse Delinsky '26 found the back of the net, and Little added two more for an 8-1 lead with under three minutes remaining in the quarter.
- Oneonta connected with 28 seconds left in the first and narrowed its deficit to six goals.
- Mirroring their fast start in the first quarter, Hamilton opened the second with three unanswered goals in the first seven minutes and pushed the lead to 11-2.
- The Red Dragons scored their third goal with 7:00 to go in the second, but Hamilton responded with another three-goal burst and closed the half with a commanding 14-3 lead.
- Hamilton came out firing in the second half as Ryan Olivo '28, Trabulsy and Griffin Bell '28 rattled off three goals in a span of 52 seconds early in the third quarter. Jake Goldstein '28 and Little added goals shortly after and extended the Continentals' lead to 19-3 with 9:36 left in the third.
- The Red Dragons managed to score their only goal of the quarter with 3:39 left and added two more in the first six minutes of the final frame for a 19-6 deficit.
- Jack Calichman '28 and Trabulsy scored in the final 6:29 for the final margin.
Notes
- Little doubled his season goal total from five to 10 with his breakout performance.
- Trabulsy notched a career-high five points on three goals and two assists, and collected four ground balls.
- Olivo posted a season-best five points with two goals and a career-high three assists.
- Goldstein added a season-high four points with two goals and two assists.
- Healy scored two goals and leads the team with 26 and 31 points.
- Howard chipped in two assists for the first multi-assist game of his career.
- Wyatt Estepp '27 recorded one goal and one assist.
- Sean Gebauer '25 won 6-of-11 faceoffs while Reece Hickey '26 won 9-of-12 and picked up five ground balls.
- Andrew Higgins '28 had a standout day, scooping up a team-high seven ground balls and winning all eight of his faceoffs.
- Jack Fried '25 started in goal and made two saves as he secured his fifth win of the season for the Continentals.
- Ben Keppler '26 relieved Fried in the second quarter and made six stops in 12-plus minutes.
- For Oneonta, Thomas Hnis led the offense with three goals and Jamie O'Neil added a goal and an assist.
- Mark Restivo made six first-quarter saves, Ben Thayer added four, and Ryan Collins stopped seven shots in 20-plus minutes.
