OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Tufts University took the lead with seven goals in the third quarter and the Jumbos went on to a 14-8 NESCAC win against the Hamilton College Continentals at Stevenson University's Mustang Stadium on Friday afternoon, March 14.
Season Update
- Hamilton (1-3, 0-3 NESCAC) has scored eight goals in all three of their conference games.
- Nationally ranked No. 1 Tufts (3-0, 3-0) was held to a season-low 14 goals.
How It Happened
- The Jumbos, who were held to one goal in the first half, scored three times in the first three minutes of the third quarter. Jack Regnery gave Tufts its first lead at 4-3 with 12:19 left.
- Thomas Healy '26 drew the Continentals even with 10:44 remaining.
- The Jumbos went in front for good with five straight goals. Max Ettinghausen made it 5-4 on a pass from Regnery with 9:23 to go, and Regnery capped the run with his third goal of the day for a 9-4 advantage 1:17 into the fourth quarter. Regnery recorded all five of his points in the first 17 minutes of the second half.
- Hamilton's Justin Pearl '25 stopped Tufts' spurt with his goal with 11:54 left in the fourth.
- The Jumbos all but clinched their victory by scoring the next three goals. Joey Waldbaum had the first two and Ettinghausen gave Tufts its largest cushion of seven at 12-5 with 9:32 remaining.
- Will Heher '25, Pearl and Healy rattled off three consecutive goals and the Continentals pulled within 12-8 with 4:36 to go.
- The Jumbos completed the scoring with two goals in the final 1:47.
- Goals were at a premium in the first half. Healy notched the only one in the first quarter and scored on a pass from Pearl that gave Hamilton a 3-1 lead with 5:24 left in the second. The Continentals took that two-goal advantage into the break.

- Healy led all players with a season-high four goals.
- Pearl finished with a season-best three points on two goals and an assist.
- Frank Coyle '26 added a goal and a helper. Coyle leads Hamilton with nine goals and 14 points.
- Heher contributed his fifth goal this season.
- Riley Chai-Onn '27 scooped up a career-high six ground balls.
- Jake Mair '25 caused five turnovers, the most in a game by the Continentals since Jayme Wilde '25 matched that number in the 2023 season opener. Mair also picked up three ground balls.
- Hamilton's Jack Fried '25 made a season-high 18 saves.
- Ettinghausen had three goals and an assist, and Brooks Hauser scored three times.
- Victor Salcedo won 8-of-12 faceoffs and collected nine ground balls. Conner Garzone stopped 13 shots.
- Tufts held a 41-17 shot advantage and racked up 31 ground balls to the Continentals' 12 in the second half. For the game, the Jumbos won 18-of-25 faceoffs.
- This contest was part of Stevenson's Callum Robinson Mustang Classic.
