MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Hamilton College swimmers set five more team records at the 2025 NESCAC Men's Swimming and Diving Championship inside the Middlebury College Natatorium on Saturday, Feb. 22.
Nathaniel Taft '27 broke his own record and automatically qualified for the NCAA championships with a winning time of 1:35.72 in the 200-yard freestyle.
Taft was part of another record as he anchored the 200 medley relay.
Matthew Chang '28, Matthew Hake '26 and
Alex Vasquez '27 were the other members of the relay that posted a time of 1:29.73.
Chang led off the 200 medley relay with a split of 23.09 seconds in the 50 backstroke, which was good for another team record. His time of 49.90 seconds in the preliminary heats of the 100 back eclipsed that record as well.
Luke Engel '25 knocked off a team record in the 1,000 free that had stood since 1993. Engel's time of 9:38.96 edged the 9:40.52 that Jonathan Greene '95 recorded 32 years ago.
Hamilton is in eighth place out of 11 teams. Preliminary heats on Sunday, Feb. 23 start at 10 a.m. and the finals start at 5:15 p.m.
