CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Charlie Archer '25 stopped all 25 shots he faced and the Continentals shut out the Connecticut College Camels 3-0 in a NESCAC game played inside Hamilton's Russell Sage Rink on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 15.
Season Update
- The ninth-ranked Continentals (16-5-1, 12-3-1 NESCAC) lead the conference standings by six points over Trinity College with two games remaining. Hamilton needs just one point next weekend to clinch the No. 1 seed for the NESCAC championship.
- Conn. College (8-13-1, 6-10-0) was shut out for the third time in its last five games.
How It Happened
- Carson Hall '26 scored the first goal with 5:09 left in the first period. Lucas Constantine '27 sent the puck towards the net from the right side of the right faceoff circle and Justin Biraben '27 tipped it into the goaltender. The puck squirted out to the left of the crease and Hall whacked it into the open net.
- It remained a one-goal game until the 8:30 mark of the second period. Devon de Vries '27 picked up the puck in the offensive zone and skated with it into the right faceoff circle where he was checked and lost control of it. The puck slid down to Jackson Krock '26 near the right post and he stuffed it past the goaltender for the 2-0 lead.
- Biraben completed the scoring with 1:03 remaining in the second and 14 seconds into a power play. His wrist shot from the blue line above the left faceoff circle somehow managed to thread its way through three defenders and beat the goaltender high on his glove side.
- Two shots by the Continentals' James Philpott '25 found the iron in the closing seconds of the period.
- The Camels had five shots on goal during three power-play chances in the third period but couldn't get anything past Archer.
