Men’s basketball clips Colby on the road, Singh ’25 scores 26

Continentals picked up their fourth straight win

WATERVILLE, Maine – Hamilton College's Teja Singh '25 recorded 26 points in the Continentals' 83-75 NESCAC win against the Colby College Mules inside Colby's Margaret M. Crook Center on Saturday, Feb. 1. 
 

Season Update

  • Hamilton (16-4, 4-2 NESCAC) remains unbeaten in true road games at 11-0. The Continentals received votes in this week's D3hoops.com Top 25 poll. 
  • Colby (13-7, 4-2) had its four-game win streak snapped. 

How It Happened

  • Singh kicked off the contest with a long-range basket and the Continentals pulled ahead with an 11-3 run for a 14-8 lead with 12:40 remaining in the first half. Nate Raub '27 ignited the surge with a layup, while Connor Jenkins '27 capped it with a free throw.
  • The Mules responded with a 7-0 run and reclaimed the lead at 15-14 with 10:13 left.
  • Matthew Rideout '27 silenced the Mules' momentum with a clutch three-pointer that sparked an 8-1 run and gave Hamilton a 27-21 lead with 4:41 remaining.
  • With 3:36 left in the half, Rideout knocked down another three-pointer and gave the Continentals their largest lead of the half at 32-25.
  • Colby pulled within two points at 34-32 with 1:12 left.
  • Singh scored the final basket of the half for a 36-32 lead heading into the break.
  • The Continentals extended their lead to 45-36 with 16 minutes left. Singh, Owen Kane '25, and Hank Morgan '25 converted consecutive layups, and Morgan capped the surge with an impressive play above the rim.
  • The Mules reduced their deficit to five points four times over the next four minutes, but the Continentals answered with a decisive 7-2 run and pushed their lead to double digits at 63-53 with 10:39 remaining
  • Colby trimmed its deficit to as few as seven points at 78-71 with 1:24 left, but the Continentals sealed the victory by going 5-for-6 at the free-throw line in the final 1:18.

Notes 

  • Singh registered a season-high 26 points and three steals and added six rebounds and four assists. 
  • Morgan tallied 23 points and seven boards. He's 12th on the team's all-time list with 1,430 points. 
  • Rideout contributed nine points off the bench. 
  • Jalen Reese '27 added six points, while Garret Keyhani '26 finished with six points and two blocked shots.  
  • Sam Hinman paced Colby with 20 points and three steals off the bench. 
  • Jack Lawson registered 16 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
  • Dan Civello had 14 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. 
  • The Continentals finished at 54.1 percent (33-61) from the field, including 66.7 percent (28-42) on two-point attempts, and went 12-for-16 at the charity stripe. 
  • Colby shot 36.4 percent (24-66) from the floor, including 27.6 percent (8-29) from beyond the arc, and went 19-for-28 (67.9 percent) at the line. 
  • Hamilton enjoyed a 52-30 advantage in points in the paint. 
  • The Mules owned a 38-29 advantage on the glass.

Hamilton travels to New London, Conn., for a NESCAC road game at Connecticut College (11-10, 3-4) on Friday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m.
