GENESEO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo scored the first seven points and the Knights led throughout their 65-49 non-conference win against the Hamilton College Continentals inside Geneseo's Carl Schrader Gymnasium on Wednesday evening, Dec. 3.
Season Update
- Hamilton (5-2 overall) played its fourth straight game away from home.
- The Knights (6-2), who are members of the Empire 8 Athletic Conference, won their third straight game.
How It Happened
- Geneseo's Grace Galgano opened the first quarter with a jumper and Sofia Vasselman scored the next five points for the 7-0 lead.
- The Continentals pulled within a point three times midway through the quarter but couldn't get over the hump. The Knights held a 20-15 advantage after one.
- Geneseo's lead fluctuated between three and nine points during the second quarter, and the Knights were up 28-23 going into the break.
- Geneseo took its first double-digit lead at 35-24 on a Galgano three-pointer a little less than two minutes into the third quarter. The Knights went up by as many as 13 points twice, including 51-38 at the end of the third.
- Hamilton didn't get closer than nine points in the fourth quarter. The final score represented Geneseo's largest lead at 16 points. A made jumper by Maggie McGrane with 26 seconds left accounted for the final margin.
Notes
- Kendall Harris '27 paced the Continentals with a game-high 27 points and added eight rebounds. Harris was 5-of-8 from three-point range. The point total was a season high and the most she's scored since dropping 30 against St. Lawrence University on Jan. 4.
- Hamilton shot 31 percent (18-58) from the field and went 6-for-14 at the free-throw line.
- Galgano finished with a double-double with 16 points and 10 boards. She also made four steals. Audrey Hintz added 14 points and two blocked shots off the bench. McGrane contributed 11 points and six assists.
- The Knights scored 20 points off 18 turnovers by the Continentals.
- Geneseo shot 43.5 percent (27-62) from the floor and made all four of its free throw attempts.

Hamilton plays another non-conference game at University of Rochester (4-3) on Friday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m.
