UTICA, N.Y. – Utica University's Dayion Thompson went 12-for-13 at the free-throw line and finished with a game-high 21 points in the Pioneers' 69-64 non-conference win over the Hamilton College Continentals on Utica's Miga Court inside the Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium on Tuesday evening, Dec. 9.

How It Happened
- Nate Raub '27 scored 15 of his career- and team-high 17 points during the first half, including eight of Hamilton's first 12 points. Raub's second 3-pointer gave the Continentals a 12-9 advantage at the 13:54 mark.
- Jack Stowell '27 chipped in 10 of his career-high 16 points during the final 8:56 of the first half.
- Utica never led during the first 20 minutes. The Pioneers tied the score for the fourth and final time in the first half at 14-14 with 11:07 remaining, but the Continentals went right back in front with a layup by Alister Walsh '29 at the 10:50 mark.
- Raub scored in the paint with 4:49 remaining and gave Hamilton its largest lead of eight points at 30-22.
- Utica's Jordan Cain scored the final basket of the first half with two seconds remaining and trimmed the Pioneers' deficit to 39-35 at the intermission.
- A 3-pointer by Liam Teague with 14:42 left in the second half gave Utica its first lead at 44-42, and the Pioneers led for the remainder of the contest.
- Two made free throws by Raub with 11:05 remaining made it a one-point game, but Utica responded with a 6-0 spurt for a 54-47 advantage at the 8:46 mark.
- A jumper by Teague with 3:21 left made it 60-52 in favor of the Pioneers, but David Melson '29 answered with a layup during the next possession.
- Cain converted two free throws with 31 seconds left for the Pioneers' largest lead of nine points at 67-58. Stowell quickly dribbled the length of the floor and converted a contested layup. Hamilton's full-court pressure forced consecutive Utica turnovers, and Stowell sank two free throws and another layup for a personal 6-0 run that cut Hamilton's deficit to three with eight seconds remaining.
- Thompson made two free throws and pushed Utica's lead back to five, and Hamilton missed its final 3-point attempt with four seconds remaining.
Notes
- Raub registered his first career double-double as he added a career high-tying 10 rebounds to his point total. Raub also drained a career-high three 3-pointers and distributed a career-high four assists.
- Stowell scored in double figures for the first time in his career on 6-of-12 shooting and made three steals.
- Jalen Reese '27 tied a season high with 15 rebounds and scored eight points for the second consecutive game. Reese added a season-high three steals and accounted for eight of Hamilton's 21 offensive rebounds.
- Utica's Keyaton Parks tallied a double-double with 17 points on 8-of-9 shooting and 10 rebounds. Cain and Teague also scored in double figures with 15 and 12 points, respectively. Teague added 11 rebounds and three blocks.
- Utica was 21-for-25 at the line, compared to 11-for-16 for Hamilton.
