CLINTON, N.Y. – Keene State College relied on its strong three-point shooting and the Owls never trailed in their 80-60 non-conference win against the Hamilton College Continentals on Hamilton's Coach Tom Murphy Court inside Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 13.
Season Update
- Hamilton (2-8 overall) recorded its last win on Nov. 21 in the Hobart College Tournament.
- Keene State (4-5), which is 1-1 in the Little East Conference, has won four of its last six games.
How It Happened
- Jordan Cooper's quick layup off an inbounds pass made the score 4-2, a lead that the Owls held for the rest of the afternoon.
- Jalen Reese '27 splashed a three-pointer from the wing and made the score 12-9 with 14:03 left in the first half.
- Following the three-pointer, Keene State took control with an 13-2 run over the next four minutes.
- The Continentals stuck around and cut their deficit to five at 28-23 with seven minutes to go in the half. Jack Stowell '27 picked up the ball at the free-throw line and scored a tough, driving layup and was fouled for an impressive three-point play.
- The Owls responded with an 18-6 run that ended the half. Ryan Blakey capped the run with four free throws in less than 30 seconds.
- Keene State continued its dominance in the second half as Joshua Williams hit a three-pointer with 12:38 to go that made the score 63-39.
- Matthew Rideout '27 attempted to spark a comeback for the Continentals with 11 points in the next four minutes as Hamilton clawed back to within 14 at 65-51.
- Keene State made four three-pointers during the next three minutes and pushed its advantage back up to 22 at 77-55 with 3:54 to go.
Notes
- Rideout scored a team-high 25 points, shooting 10-of-17 from the field including 5-of-8 from three. He averaged 18.0 points per game in the last four and is tied for 11th in the NESCAC with 14.9 per game this season.
- Reese chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds. He is third in the conference with 9.0 boards per contest.
- Hamilton shot 34.3 percent (23-67) from the field.
- Keene State exploded from beyond the arc, making 14-of-28.
- Cooper led the Owls with 27 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals. Blakey went 6-for-6 at the free-throw line and finished with 11 points.

Hamilton travels to Yeshiva University in New York to play Illinois Wesleyan University (6-3) on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 1 p.m.
