No. 15 women’s hockey shuts out Trinity in home opener

Crowley ’26 provided one goal and one assist for the Continentals

CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Grace Crowley '26 and Lydia Bullock '26 scored goals and the Continentals posted a 2-0 NESCAC win over the Trinity College Bantams inside Hamilton's Russell Sage Rink on Friday night, Nov. 21.

Season Update

  • Hamilton (1-1-1, 1-1-1 NESCAC), ranked 15th in the USCHO.com Division III Top 15 poll, began a four-game homestand.
  • Trinity (0-3-0, 0-3) was shut out for the second straight game.

How It Happened

  • Late in the first period, Sarah Myziuk '28 tracked down a loose puck near the right-side boards after a shot by Jamie Porter '28 was blocked. Myziuk slid a pass in front of the goal to Crowley, who redirected the puck into the net for a 1-0 lead with 3:26 left.
  • After a scoreless second period in which Evie Sheridan '26 came up with five saves to maintain the one-goal lead, the Continentals doubled their advantage early in the third. Sophia Rodham '27 received the puck near the blue line in Hamilton's offensive zone with 16:28 left in the period and fired it towards goal. Bullock deflected the puck out of the air and redirected it inside the left post 3:35 into the period.
  • Bullock found herself with another scoring opportunity less than 30 seconds later. Carly McMahon '27 gathered the puck in Hamilton's defensive zone and sent a pass to Bullock at the center line. Bullock made a quick move past her defender, skated towards goal and ripped a shot that was saved by Trinity's Madeline Carter.
  • Hamilton forced Carter to make 12 saves during the second period. Eight different Continentals put a shot on goal during the period.
  • The Bantams went on a power play with 2:10 remaining in the second period, but Hamilton prevented the visitors from putting a shot on goal during the two minutes.
