Diana Baffor '29 scored in the 87
th minute and lifted the Continentals to a 1-0 NESCAC win against the Trinity College Bantams at Hamilton's Love Field on Saturday, Oct. 25.
Season Update
- The Continentals (8-4-3, 5-4-1 NESCAC) picked up their fifth straight win and moved up to fourth place in the conference standings. Hamilton played its last regular season match while the other 10 NESCAC teams finish their season on Tuesday, Oct. 28.
- Trinity (6-6-2, 2-6-1) lost for the third time in its last four matches.
How It Happened
- Baffor earned a free kick from the middle of the field and just a few feet outside the penalty box with a little less than four minutes remaining. She sent a shot to the upper-left corner of the goal and gave the Continentals the lead in the late stages.
- Hamilton had control of the first half despite not being able to score. The Continentals had 10 shots and held the Bantams to only two in the opening 45 minutes.
- A shot by Sarah Flood '27 banged off the right post in the 12th minute, and another by Baffor deflected off the crossbar in the 27th minute.
- The second half was more of the same with Hamilton outshooting Trinity 12-3. The Bantams had a corner kick with about three minutes to go but nothing came of it.
Notes
- Baffor's goal was her second this season and her first since Sept. 9.
- Nieve Tonna '26 made a save in the second half and picked up her seventh win of the season. Tonna earned her fourth shutout in 13 starts this season and the 11th of her career.
- Haley Cramer '28 and Flood combined for 10 of the Continentals' 22 shots.
- Lily Bracken stopped 11 shots for Trinity.

The Continentals return to the pitch on Saturday, Nov. 1 against an opponent to be determined in the quarterfinal round of the NESCAC championship.
