CLINTON, N.Y. – Trinity College's Jaxon Carroll threw for 290 yards and three touchdowns in the Bantams' 49-0 NESCAC win against the Hamilton College Continentals at Hamilton's Steuben Field on a sunny and seasonably warm Saturday afternoon, Oct. 11.
Season Update
- The Continentals (1-4 NESCAC) have sandwiched two losses before and after their 27-13 win against Bowdoin College on Sept. 27.
- Trinity (4-1) extended its win streak to four games.
How It Happened
- The Bantams scored a touchdown on seven of their first eight possessions. Tyler DiNapoli started it with a three-yard run into the end zone with 6:27 left in the first quarter.
- Hamilton gained 76 yards combined on their first two drives, both of which ended in Trinity territory. The Continentals reached the Bantams' 27-yard line on the second drive, but turned the ball over on downs.
- Trinity built a 28-0 lead late in the second quarter after a 24-yard touchdown pass to Jack Tosone, a nine-yard scoring strike to Nick Behrens and a two-yard plunge by DiNapoli.
- The Bantams received the second half's opening kickoff and scored on their second play on a 71-yard pass from Carroll to Tate Hoffmeister. Josh Woodford ran six yards for a touchdown after an interception by Alec Medwar at the Hamilton 35 gave Trinity a short field. A Drake Bellisari one-yard run completed the scoring with 2:26 remaining in the third quarter.
Notes
- Luke Kurzum '27 was 10-of-23 for 101 yards with an interception for the Continentals.
- Mitchell Ivatts '29 had a season-long, 39-yard reception in the first quarter.
- Mat Bucher '27 was credited with eight tackles and a pass breakup for Hamilton. Bucher is tied for eighth in the NESCAC with 37 tackles.
- John Young '26 added eight tackles including seven solo stops.
- Carroll was 22-of-30 passing and his favorite target was Tosone (6 catches, 59 yards). Julian Pollard registered the game's only sack. Max Wallace was a perfect 7-for-7 on extra point tries.
- The Bantams racked up 29 first downs and 539 yards of offense. They had the ball for more than 37 minutes and were 7-of-10 on third down conversions.
