Game Recap: Women's Basketball | | Lindsay LeSueur

Women’s basketball wins fourth straight, Harris ’27 drops in 30

Lambo ’26 notched her fourth consecutive double-double in 16-point home win

CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Kendall Harris '27 poured in a career-high 30 points and stuffed a career-best five blocks as the Continentals breezed by the St. Lawrence University Saints 75-59 on Hamilton's Coach Tom Murphy Court inside Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Saturday, Jan. 4.

Season Update

  • Hamilton (11-2 overall) has won its last four contests.
  • St. Lawrence (6-3) has a 1-2 record in the Liberty League.

How It Happened

  • Knotted at 4-4, the Continentals went on an 8-0 spurt for a 12-4 advantage and led the rest of the way. Hannah Bernstein '28 opened the run with a drive to the basket, Harris buried a pair of jumpers and Erica Hills '28 converted a layup.
  • A last-second layup by Taylor Lambo '26 gave the Continentals a 22-11 lead at the end of the first quarter.
  • Sam Glickman '25 and Harris went to work and combined on the Continentals' first 11 points in the second quarter for a 33-21 lead with 5:47 left.
  • An old-fashioned 3-point play by Hills and a backdoor cut and layup by Lambo gave Hamilton a 15-point lead at 38-23 with 4:04 remaining.
  • The Continentals closed out the second quarter on a 10-0 run for a comfortable 48-27 cushion at the half.
  • Harris kept the run alive with a 3-pointer at the start of the third quarter.
  • Lambo ran off seven straight points that started with a perfect trip to the line. She then drained a wide open 3-ball from the left wing and finished the scoring with another pair at the charity stripe for Hamilton's largest lead of 26 at 61-35 with 5:17 to go.
  • St. Lawrence had its best quarter in the fourth as the Saints outscored Hamilton 14-9, but the Continentals held onto at least a 14-point lead the rest of the way.

Notes

  • Harris went 12-for-17 from the field, including five 3-pointers. She recorded Hamilton's first 30-point game since Kelcie Zarle '22 had 35 against St. John Fisher in November 2021.
  • Lambo tallied her fourth straight double-double with 23 points and a team-best 12 rebounds.
  • Hills contributed 11 points off the bench on 5-of-7 shooting.
  • Bernstein added five points and three assists.
  • Abbey Schwoebel '27 finished with five rebounds in 12 minutes off the bench.
  • Elizabeth Flynn led St. Lawrence with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Mason Baker-Schlendering registered eight points and five rebounds.
  • Jackie Malley chipped in eight points and two steals, while KJ Greenhalgh added eight points off the bench.
  • The Continentals were 21-of-36 from the field in the first half.
  • Hamilton shot 47.5 percent (29-61) from the floor, including 7-of-14 from beyond the arc, and 76.9 percent (10-13) at the charity stripe.
  • The Saints finished 35.8 percent (24-67) from the field, including 31.6 percent (6-19) from 3-point range, and 5-for-7 at the line.
