No. 9 men's hockey piles up six goals at Tufts, wins fifth straight

Krock '26 led the Continentals' offense with three points on a goal and two assists

MALDEN, Mass. – Hamilton College's Jackson Krock '26 scored a goal and added two assists as the Continentals cruised to a 6-1 NESCAC win against the Tufts University Jumbos at Tufts' Malden Valley Forum on Friday night, Jan. 17.

Season Update

  • Nationally ranked No. 9 Hamilton (11-3-0, 7-1 NESCAC) won its fifth straight game.
  • The Jumbos (4-7-1, 2-5-0) lost their fifth game in a row.

How It Happened

  • The Continentals held a 15-7 shot advantage in the first period but they didn't score their first goal until there was 4:46 left. Following a rush up the ice, Cameron Miranda '26 put the puck on net from above the right faceoff circle. Miranda's shot was stopped but not held and Carson Hall '26 was there for the rebound.
  • Hamilton made it 2-0 with just 2.2 seconds remaining in the period. Krock passed to Grisha Gotovets '25 above the right faceoff circle and Gotovets skated into the slot where he scored on a backhand shot.
  • Luke Tchor '27 gave the Continentals a three-goal cushion at 6:44 of the second period. Tchor carried the puck into the attacking zone and scored on a wrist shot from above the right faceoff circle.
  • A power-play goal by Krock put Hamilton up 4-0 with 2:54 to go in the second. James Philpott '25 cracked a shot from the point that Krock tipped past the goaltender from the low slot.
  • Sebastian Hamming '28 increased the Continentals' advantage to five goals on a one-timer from the high slot with 38.4 seconds left in the period.
  • A goal by Max Resnick 18 seconds into the third period ended Hamilton's shutout bid.
  • A fine individual effort by defenseman John Wojciechowski '28 rounded out the scoring 2:19 into the third. Wojciechowski forced a turnover at his defensive blue line and it turned into a breakaway opportunity. He went from his forehand to his backhand and scored from close range.

Notes

  • Krock recorded his second multi-point game this season and his second career two-assist contest.
  • Tchor leads the NESCAC with nine goals and is second with 17 points.
  • Gotovets registered a goal and two assists, and his three points tied a career high.
  • Philpott picked up two helpers for the first time since Feb. 17, 2024.
  • Hall extended his goal streak to four consecutive games.
  • Wojciechowski and Hamming notched their first collegiate goals.

  • Aksel Reid '27 – in his first action in goal since Dec. 13 – turned away 15 shots for the Continentals.
  • Tade Carman and Gustave Bylin combined to make 34 saves for Tufts.
  • Hamilton was 1-for-3 on the power play while the Jumbos were 0-for-3. The Continentals have scored a power-play goal in five of the last seven games.
