Men's soccer plays No. 15 Bowdoin to 1-1 NESCAC draw in Maine

Ferrare '27 scored his second goal this year for the Continentals

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Hamilton College's Patrick Ferrare '27 led the Continental offense in a 1-1 NESCAC tie against the Bowdoin College Polar Bears at Bowdoin's Pickard Field on a warm Saturday afternoon, Sept. 28.

Season Update

  • The Continentals (2-4-2, 1-3-1 NESCAC) posted their second straight tie.
  • The 15th-ranked Polar Bears (4-1-2, 1-1-2) surrendered a goal for just the second time in their last five matches.

How it Happened

  • Ferrare came out hot, scoring in the 15th minute off an assist by Aedan Burke '26.
  • In the 54th minute, Hamilton's defense finally let up as Bowdoin's Felipe Rueda Duran tied the score.
  • In an end-of-game push to score the decisive goal, four yellow cards were handed out between the 80th and 89th minutes, with three given to the Polar Bears.
  • Bowdoin had a corner kick in the 83rd minute and recorded two shots on goal in the final four minutes.
  • A shot by Burke sailed wide in the 89th minute.

  • Bowdoin held a 14-10 advantage in shots, while Hamilton led in corner kicks, 6-3.
  • Ferrare scored his second goal of the season.
  • Burke was credited with his second career assist.
  • Finn Wheeler '27 made a career-high six saves for the Continentals.
  • Alex Ainsworth collected five stops for the Polar Bears.
  • This was the fourth draw between the teams in their last six meetings.
