AMHERST, Mass. – Amherst College's Sofia Camilo tallied nine kills and five blocks and the Mammoths defeated the Hamilton College Continentals in straight sets (25-9, 25-14, 25-17) at Amherst's LeFrak Gymnasium on Friday, Sept. 27.
Season Update
- Hamilton (3-7, 0-3 NESCAC) is still looking for its first win away from home.
- Amherst (10-2, 1-2) picked up its first conference win in three tries.
How It Happened
- Amherst turned a 7-3 advantage into a 20-6 cushion in the opening set. The Mammoths claimed the set win on a pair of kills and two Hamilton attack errors.
- Trailing 11-8, the Mammoths rallied for the next five points to take a 13-11 lead. The Continentals were able to pull within a point at 13-12, but Amherst finished on a 12-2 run for the set victory.
- Amherst jumped out to an 8-3 lead in the third set and stretched its lead to nine points at 14-5. Hamilton launched a six-point rally and closed the gap to just four at 21-17. However, the Mammoths scored the final four points and secured the sweep.

- Drew Stimson '25 and Allie Steel '28 finished with four kills each.
- Ayzlinn Trefren '28 led Hamilton with 15 digs.
- Pati Cerda '26 collected 16 assists.
- Charlotte Rasmussen contributed eight kills and three service aces for the Mammoths.
- Lizzie Papalia (11), Renee Liou (10) and Anaya Thomas (10) combined for 31 digs.
- Kinsey Cronin came up with seven kills and a team-high eight blocks.
- Liou paced Amherst with 34 assists.
