Women’s soccer cruises past Morrisville with explosive offense, 8-0

Cramer ’28 finished with two goals and an assist for the Continentals

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Hamilton College had six players score and the Continentals rolled past the SUNY Morrisville Mustangs with a convincing 8-0 non-conference victory at Morrisville's Drake Field on Sunday, Sept. 22. 
 

Season Update

  • Hamilton (3-2-2 overall) has shut out all three of its non-conference opponents this season. 
  • Morrisville, which is a member of the SUNYAC, dipped to 0-3-2 overall. 
 

How It Happened

  • Hamilton opened the scoring 4:20 into the match on a goal by Maddie Ledbury '26 assisted by Olivia Zubarik '25. 
  • Zubarik added a goal in the 11th minute with a left-footed shot from the right wing.
  • The Continentals found the back of the net once more less than three minutes later, with Sarah Flood '27 scoring near the inside post.
  • Katie Moses '25 received a pass from Keira Nyarady '28 and unleashed a shot from the edge of the left side of the six-yard box. Moses' shot deflected off the Morrisville goalkeeper and extended the lead to 4-0 with 16:26 remaining in the first half.
  • Hamilton took a commanding 5-0 lead into halftime, thanks to a goal by Haley Cramer '28 in the 39th minute.
  • Flood scored again on a penalty kick in the 61st minute.
  • Lydia DeTraglia '28 received a pass from Cramer and tucked the ball into the lower-left corner, extending the lead to 7-0 in the 65th minute.
  • Just 50 seconds later, Cramer netted Hamilton's final goal with a brilliant one-timer from 10 yards out, set up by a pass from DeTraglia.
  • Hamilton boasted a 28-6 shot advantage with 15 on goal. 
  • The Continentals carried an 8-0 edge on corner kicks. 

Notes

  • This is the most goals the Continentals have scored since a 10-0 win against Cazenovia College on Oct. 23, 2022. 
  • Cramer tallied her second multi-goal game of the season. She finished with a team-best five points. 
  • Ledbury recorded her fourth goal of the season and handed out her first assist. 
  • Zubarik scored her second goal of the season in as many games and dished out her 10th career assist.
  • Flood recorded a career-high four points on two goals.
  • Moses chipped in her second career goal. 
  • DeTraglia registered her first collegiate goal and first career assist. 
  • Nyarady handed out her first assist. 
  • Olivia Connolly '27 made one stop in the first 45 minutes before Christina Rego '28 secured the shutout with four saves in her collegiate debut.  
  • Kayle Roberts collected seven saves for the Mustangs.  

Next Match

The Continentals return to NESCAC action with a trip to Bowdoin College (1-2-3, 0-2-0) on Saturday, Sept. 28 at noon.
