CLINTON, N.Y. – Tufts University's Henry Perkins scored twice and the Jumbos posted a 4-1 NESCAC win against the Hamilton College Continentals at Hamilton's Love Field on Saturday, Sept. 21.
Season Update
- The Continentals (2-4-0, 1-3 NESCAC) avoided being shut out for the first time this season.
- Tufts (5-0-1, 3-0-1) is ranked seventh in the United Soccer Coaches Division III Top 25 poll.
How It Happened
- Tufts scored 66 seconds into the opening half on a goal by Liam Gerken.
- Jude Rouhana '25 nearly knotted the score in the 12th minute with a shot from about 20 yards out that grazed the top of the crossbar.
- Xavier Canfin doubled the Jumbos' lead 1:43 into the second half.
- Perkins tacked on another goal in the 62nd minute for a 3-0 cushion.
- The Jumbos struck for the final time with 14 minutes remaining on another goal by Perkins.
- Hamilton scored its lone goal with 1:56 left on a penalty kick by Ben LaBranche '25. The Continentals had a corner kick opportunity and after two close attempts from inside the six-yard box, Troy Miller '28 fired another shot that was blocked by a defender's hand for the foul.
- Hamilton owned a 21-12 shot advantage with seven on target.
- The Continentals held a 6-3 edge on corner kicks including 5-0 in the second half.
