Men’s lacrosse rolls past SUNY Oneonta, Healy ’26 scores five goals

Twelve Continentals score in 19-8 non-conference victory

CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Thomas Healy '26 tied a career high with five goals and the Continentals cruised to a 19-8 non-conference win against the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons under the lights at Hamilton's Withiam Field on Tuesday, April 16. 
 
Season Update
  • Hamilton (7-6 overall) defeated all four of its non-conference opponents this season. 
  • Oneonta (6-6) has lost four of its last six contests. 
How It Happened
  • Healy netted Hamilton's first three goals and the Continentals took off on a 7-0 run with 8:06 left in the second quarter. 
  • The Continentals shut out the Red Dragons for 22-plus minutes. Oneonta scored its first goal with 7:38 left. 
  • One minute later, Frank Coyle '26 hit a slick behind-the-back shot off a nice feed from Reece Hickey '26 for a 9-1 lead.
  • Hamilton closed out the second stanza with three more goals and the Continentals held a comfortable 12-1 cushion at the half. 
  • Hickey won the opening faceoff and Maddux Little '27 took it to the house just 1:12 into the third quarter. 
  • Oneonta outscored Hamilton 3-2 in the third frame, but the Continentals clutched an impressive 15-4 advantage heading into the final quarter. 
  • The Red Dragons sparked a 3-0 run in the opening 4:18 of the fourth quarter and narrowed their deficit to 15-7 with 10:42 to go.
  • Ben Ryan '26 added to Hamilton's lead with 9:17 left on the clock. A short 10 seconds later, Ford Collins '27 gave the Continentals another double-digit lead at 17-7. 
  • The Red Dragons won the ensuing faceoff and scored their eighth goal with 9:01 remaining. 
  • Milo Trabulsy '25 found the back of the net for the 18-8 advantage with 6:05 left. 
  • Ryan Howard '25 connected for Hamilton's final goal on a pass by Troy Pollock '25 with 4:46 to go.

  • Hamilton leads the all-time series, 25-9. 
  • The Continentals had a season-best 26 successful clears. 
  • Healy led the Continentals with five goals. He leads the team with team with 30 total goals. 
  • Christian Byrne '24 finished with four points on one goal and a team-best three helpers. 
  • Coyle registered one goal and a pair of assists.
  • Justin Pearl '25 tallied his eighth multi-goal game of the season. 
  • Howard scored his first two goals of the season.
  • Will Heher '25 buried his 24th goal of the season.
  • Collins netted his first career goal. 
  • Charlie Rooney '27 scored his third goal of his rookie season.
  • Zach Lucchini '25 tallied his third career goal, while Little recorded his second.
  • Ryan notched a goal for the second game in a row.
  • Wylie Ocken '27 passed out his first collegiate assist and added three ground balls. 
  • Hickey won 8 of 13 faceoffs, scooped up five ground balls and handed out an assist. 
  • Trabulsy finished with two goals and two ground ball pickups. 
  • Pollock dished out his fourth assist of the season. 
  • John McKinnon '27 secured five ground balls. 
  • Jack Fried '25 tallied six saves for the Continentals. He leads the NESCAC with a .592 save percentage. 
  • Thomas Hnis paced Oneonta with five points on five goals. 
  • Eric Nicholson, Vincent Tirino and Evan Kelly added one goal and one assist apiece for the Red Dragons. 
  • Matthew Krieg passed out one assist. 
  • Stephen Barikyan picked up a team-best six ground balls and won 11 of 23 faceoffs.
  • Harrison Boukas and Tyler Carroll both made five stops in goal for the Red Dragons.

Hamilton wraps up the regular season with a NESCAC contest at Connecticut College (4-6, 1-6) on Saturday, April 20 at noon.
