Men's lacrosse ends regular season with 13-6 win at Conn. College

Delinsky '26 posted career highs of five goals and six points for the Continentals

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Hamilton College's Jesse Delinsky '26 set career highs with five goals and six points, and the Continentals got off to a fast start en route to their 13-6 NESCAC win against the Connecticut College Camels at Conn. College's Silfen Field on Saturday, April 20.
 

Season Update

  • Hamilton (8-6, 4-6 NESCAC) is in eighth place in the NESCAC standings and is locked into the eighth seed for the NESCAC championship quarterfinals, which will be played on Saturday, April 27. The Continentals' opponent is to be determined as the other 10 schools all have one conference game remaining.
  • The Camels (4-8, 1-8) lost their third straight game against a conference opponent.
 

How It Happened

  • Hamilton led 5-0 with 10:17 left in the second quarter when Delinsky scored after a pass from Christian Byrne '24. Byrne had a goal and two assists during the Continentals' five-goal run.
  • Conn. College didn't get closer than three goals the rest of the afternoon.
  • Hamilton led 7-2 at the half and 9-4 after three quarters. The Continentals ended the Camels' comeback hopes by scoring the first three goals in the fourth quarter for a 12-4 advantage with 5:46 remaining.
 

Notes

  • Delinsky has 20 goals and 28 points this season. He also caused two turnovers.
  • Byrne finished with two goals and two helpers for four points. He tied his career high in points for the second straight game and leads the team with 19 assists.
  • Frank Coyle '26 recorded a goal and two assists for the second game in a row.
  • Will Heher '25 and Thomas Healy '26 scored two goals apiece. Healy leads the team with 32 goals and 49 points, and Heher is second in points with 35 (26 goals, 9 assists).
  • Long-stick midfielder Carter Hampson '24 posted his first career multi-point game with a goal and an assist, and led Hamilton with four ground balls.
  • Ryan Howard '25 was credited with his third career assist.
  • Riley Chai-Onn '27 led the defense with three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
  • Nick Taylor '25 and Wylie Ocken '27 chipped in three ground balls and two caused turnovers apiece.
  • Reece Hickey '26 won 5 of 8 faceoffs and has won 52.5 percent of the 221 he's taken this year.
  • Jack Fried '25 made 13 saves in 58-plus minutes in goal.
  • Liam Horken paced Conn. College's offense with three goals and Lorenzo Vogliano had three assists. Aidan Gaudet won 13 of 22 faceoffs and scooped up six ground balls. Will Rice stopped eight shots in 58-plus minutes of action.
  • The Camels scored on 2 of 4 extra-man opportunities while the Continentals didn't have any. Hampson did manage to score a man-down goal for Hamilton early in the fourth quarter.
