Charlie Quinn '25 cranked a pair of two-run homers and
Natalie Beebe '24 tallied seven strikeouts in Game 1 as the Continentals posted a NESCAC doubleheader sweep of the Bates College Bobcats at Bowdoin College's Pickard Diamond on Saturday, April 13.
Season Update
- Hamilton (14-12, 7-5 NESCAC) posted a 7-2 win in the opener and stormed from behind for a 7-4 triumph in the nightcap.
- Bates (5-14, 2-6) has lost five of its last seven games.
Game 1
How It Happened
- Hamilton took a 3-0 lead in the top of third powered by a lead-off triple by Alessandra Priante '24 and a two-run blast to left center by Charlie Quinn '25.
- The Bobcats put themselves on the board with one on two doubles in the fourth.
- The Continentals responded with one run in the fifth on two hits. Jordan Merklin '26 hit a one-out triple to the left center gap and Gabby Garrison '27 knocked her in on a bunt to third base.
- Bates was able to counter with one run in the bottom half on a homerun by Emma Yen.
- Hamilton stayed hot at the plate with another run on three hits in the sixth. Alison Zorn '26 roped a lead-off double to left center and was replaced by Sofia Santana '26. With two outs, Priante hit another single and with runners on the corners, Emma Tansky '25 drove in Santana on an infield single to third base.
- The Continentals added a pair of insurance runs in the seventh on three hits. Garrison singled through the left side and Quinn hit a two-run long ball over the center field fence for the final margin.

- Six of Hamilton's 13 hits went for extra bases.
- Quinn drove in a team-best four runs on her first two homeruns of the season.
- Garrison led Hamilton at the plate with a career game-high three hits and one RBI.

Game 2
How It Happened
- Trailing 4-2, Hamilton exploded for five runs on five hits in the bottom of the sixth. Quinn drew a lead-off walk, Alexis Mayer '26 doubled down the left field line, and with two runners in scoring position, Zorn zipped a two-run single up the middle. The Continentals had runners in scoring position again and Hadley Rogers '26 provided a clutch go-ahead, two-run hit through the right side. Santana reached on a fielder's choice, stole second and scored on a triple to left field by Merklin.
- Scoreless through the first two innings, Hamilton struck first with one run on two hits and an error in the third. Santana hit an infield single, stole second, advanced to third on a bunt to the left side by Merklin and scored on a Bobcats throwing error.
- Bates took a 4-1 lead on four hits in the bottom half.
- The Continentals narrowed their deficit with one run in the fifth on two walks and two errors.

- Zorn and Rogers both plated a pair of runs on one hit.
- Merklin batted in one run on three hits and stole two bases. She leads the team with five triples.

- Aubrey Purvis '27 earned the start, scattering two runs on two hits, walking one and striking out five in 2.1 innings of work.
- Tansky delivered her sixth win of the season, giving up two runs on three hits, walking four and striking out five. She leads Hamilton's staff with 43 strikeouts.
- Lily Freedman drove in a team-best two runs on one hit for the Bobcats.
- Isabel Bettencourt and Isabella Albro both finished with doubles.
- Zariya Anderson and Yen contributed one hit apiece.
