CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Taylor Kaufman '26 cranked a go-ahead, three-run homer and the Continentals cruised to a 15-5 NESCAC West Division win against the Wesleyan University Cardinals at Hamilton's Loop Road Athletic Complex on Friday, April 12.

- Hamilton (8-11, 2-5 NESCAC West) snapped its losing skid at six games.
- Wesleyan (16-5, 4-3) is receiving votes in the D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 poll.
How It Happened
- Trailing 4-0 in the bottom of the third, Hamilton took back three runs on three hits. Charlie O'Brien '24 fired a solo shot over the fence in left center. Kaufman bunted for a single, Jackson Sattinger '24 walked and Shane Dux '24 roped a two-run double to the gap in left center.
- The Continentals took the lead on three hits and an error in the fourth inning. With two outs, Greg Kopp '25 jumped on the first pitch and ripped an RBI single up the middle. Kaufman gave the Continentals a 7-4 lead on a three-run blast down the left field line.
- Hamilton's bats stayed hot as the Continentals added four more runs on four hits in the fifth. Jack Griffin '24 nailed a lead-off triple to left center and Jackson Johns '24 drove him in on a single to center. Alfonso Rada '27 singled through the left side and O'Brien put the crowd back on its feet with his second home run of the contest for an 11-4 advantage.
- Sattinger led off the sixth inning with a solo blast to left center.
- Wesleyan plated its final run in the seventh.
- The Continentals pressed the gas for three runs on four hits and an error in the eighth. Griffin hit a stand-up double to right center that plated Dux, and Johns smoked a two-run homer over the fence in right center.
- The Cardinals opened with a run in the second inning and three more in the third.
Notes
- Eight of Hamilton's 19 hits went for extra bases.
- Johns drove in three runs on three hits, including his first career home run.
- Kaufman plated three runs on a single and his first homer of the season.
- O'Brien drove in a career-high four batters on two home runs. He's hit all three of his career blasts in the past week.
- Sattinger finished 3-for-4 including his sixth long ball of the season and drew a walk. He leads the NESCAC with a .500 batting average and is third with an OPS of 1.436.
- Dux had three hits and leads the team with eight doubles.
- Griffin hit a single, a double and a triple.
- Rada tallied two singles .
- Ben Waterman '27 picked up his first collegiate win on the bump, giving up just two hits, two walks and striking out two batters in three scoreless innings.
- Eddie Taylor '25 earned his first save of the season allowing one run on two hits and one walk while collecting two strikeouts.
- Connor Sullivan hit a two-run homer for Wesleyan.
- Sam Hensinger, Evan Diaz, James Marsden, Luke LaSaracina and Will Moore contributed one hit each.
Next Game
Hamilton and Wesleyan meet again for a doubleheader at Loop Road on Saturday, April 13 starting at noon. The Continentals will honor their seven seniors prior to the start of Game 1.
