UTICA, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Thomas Healy '26 scored three goals and had two assists in the Continentals' 22-1 non-conference win against the Utica University Pioneers at Utica's Gaetano Stadium on Tuesday, March 5.
Season Update
- Hamilton (2-0 overall) has scored 43 goals in its first two games.
- The Pioneers (1-3) were coming off a 9-8 victory in double overtime at Wilkes University.
How It Happened
- The Continentals scored the first four goals in a span of 4:16 midway through the first quarter. Frank Coyle '26 got things started off a feed from Evan deBerjeois '27 with 10:37 left. Unassisted goals by Jesse Delinsky '26, Will Heher '25 and Healy followed, and Hamilton led 4-0 with 6:21 remaining.
- Sam Serrano's man-up goal with 1:20 to go in the first was Utica's lone goal of the night. Connor Costanza picked up the assist.
- Carter Hampson '24 took a pass from Coyle and scored with 3.9 seconds left. Hamilton owned a 5-1 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
- Eight Continentals registered nine goals in the second quarter. Healy had two goals and two assists in the second, and Hamilton scored twice in the last nine seconds. Milo Trabulsy '25 found Tim Murray '24 for the first one, and Trabulsy beat the halftime horn for a 14-1 lead. John McKinnon '27 had the assist on Trabulsy's goal.
- Nathanial Field '24 assisted on two goals by deBerjeois in the third quarter as the Continentals went up 17-1 with 15 minutes to go.
- Maddux Little '27 and Zach Perotto '24 notched two goals apiece in the fourth quarter. Perotto's goal, on an assist from Murray, wrapped up the scoring with 6:04 remaining.
Notes
- Hamilton kept the Contineer Cup and improved to 23-1 all-time against the Pioneers.
- The Continentals scored their most goals in a game since they defeated University of New England 22-3 in Florida on March 13, 2007.
- Healy added four ground balls. He leads Hamilton with 12 points this season.
- Field finished with a career-high four assists.
- deBerjeois ended up with two goals and a helper.
- Delinsky, Perotto, Little and Troy Pollock '25 contributed two goals each. Little's goals were the first of his collegiate career.
- Christian Byrne '24, Coyle, Trabulsy, Charlie Rooney '27 and Murray recorded a goal and an assist each. Rooney's points were his first with the Continentals.
- Heher scored his team-leading seventh goal.
- Wyatt Estepp '27, Hampson and Casey LaForce '27 found the back of the net for the first time at Hamilton.
- Reece Hickey '26 won 9 of 11 faceoffs and scooped up seven ground balls.
- McKinnon picked up five ground balls.
- Kyle Mannherz '24 and Ford Collins '27 caused two turnovers apiece.
- Sean Gebauer '25 won 6 of 8 faceoffs and Michael Scoleri '24 won 5 of 7.
- Jack Fried '25 started in goal and made five saves in the first half. Ben Keppler '26 and Ben Greco '27 combined to make three stops in the second half.
- Andrew Sacco and Jack Hogan collected four ground balls apiece for the Pioneers.
- Sacco and Ethan Brown had three caused turnovers apiece.
- Patrick Oswald made five saves in the first half for Utica. Jake Bowen added four stops and Max Frenette had one in the second half.
- The Continentals held a 50-19 shot advantage and grabbed 50 ground balls to Utica's 17. Hamilton won 20 of 26 faceoffs.
