CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Jack Eshleman '25 struck out a career-high 14 batters and
Jackson Sattinger '24 smacked four hits in a NESCAC West Division series-opening win against the Middlebury College Panthers at Hamilton's Loop Road Athletic Complex on Friday, March 29.

- Hamilton (7-5, 1-0 NESCAC West) has won five of its last six contests.
- Middlebury moved to 8-7 overall and 0-1 in the division.
How It Happened
- Hamilton struck early with three runs in its first at-bat on two hits, one hit batsman, an error and two wild pitches. Taylor Kaufman '26 was hit by a pitch, Sattinger singled up the middle and Michael Tallarida '26 drove in both on a single through the left side. Sattinger and Tallarida later scored on wild pitches.
- Sattinger extended Hamilton's lead to 4-0 in the third inning with a solo blast over the fence in right center.
- Middlebury plated all three of its runs in the sixth on one hit batsman, two errors and a sacrifice fly.
- The Panthers threatened in the top of the ninth with a one-out double down the left field line by Michael Schroeder, but Eshleman worked the Continentals out of the jam with a fly ball and his 14th strikeout.
Notes
- Sattinger led the Hamilton offense with four of the Continentals' six hits including the 100th of his career. He launched his fifth home run of the season and leads the team with a .568 batting average. The senior added a team-best three stolen bases.
- Alfonso Rada '27 added a single.
- Eshleman owns a 2-0 record and a 1.50 ERA. He leads the NESCAC in ERA, innings pitched (30.0) and strikeouts (40).
- Chris Borter and Schroeder had Middlebury's two hits.
- Owen Tross tallied four strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work.
- Charlie Kutz gave up one hit and struck out two batters in 1.1 innings of relief for the Panthers.
