WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The Hamilton College Continentals outscored the University of Hartford 26-11 in a non-conference doubleheader sweep at Hartford's Fiondalla Field on Saturday, March 16.

Game 1 (12-7)
How It Happened
- Tied 7-7 through six innings, the Continentals took the lead for good in the seventh when Jack Griffin '24 drove in pinch-runner Jeremy Diaz '27 on a two-out single up the middle.
- plated a pair of runs in the top of the eighth to take the lead for good. Greg Kopp '25 singled, advanced to second on an error and was replaced by pinch-runner Chester Boynton '27. Jackson Sattinger '24 drove Boynton in on a single through the right side and stole second. Shane Dux '24 singled up the middle and scored Sattinger.
- Hamilton added two more runs in the final inning. Griffin smacked a double to center field and the Continentals had two runners in scoring position after a double to right by Taylor Kaufman '26. Boynton plated Griffin on a sacrifice fly to center and Kaufman scored on a wild pitch.
- Hamilton struck early with one run in the first on two hits and an error. Kopp nailed a double to center and scored on a single by Sattinger.
- Hartford took a 2-1 lead with two runs in the third.
- Hamilton had its best inning in the fourth with five runs on eight hits. Tallarida set the tone with a lead-off blast over the left field fence. Dux kept it going with a triple to left field and scored on a single to left by Matt Kinne '25. Griffin, Kopp and Sattinger all singled in runs for a 6-2 advantage.
- Hartford cut its deficit to two runs at 6-4 with two more runs in the bottom half on two hits.
- The Continentals were able to put up one run in the sixth with two outs despite not getting a hit. Kaufman was hit by a pitch and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Kopp worked the count for the second straight walk and Sattinger loaded the bases after being hit by a pitch. Tallarida scored Kaufman on the third walk of the inning.
- The Hawks evened the score at 7-7 after plating three runs on three hits in the bottom half.

- Hamilton recorded 17 hits, 11 RBI and six walks.
- Sattinger went 4-for-5, including his fifth career triple and batted in a team-best three runs. He stole two bases and was hit by a pitch.
- Kopp finished with three hits including a double and walked twice.
- Griffin went 3-for-5 with a double, knocked in two runs and scored twice.
- Kaufman recorded two hits and scored a team-best three runs.
- Dux registered his fifth career triple, stole a base and walked once.
- Tallarida collected two RBI and drew two walks.

- Jack Eshleman '25 scattered seven hits on four earned runs, walked four batters and fanned six in five innings pitched.
- Kenny Rix '25 (1-1) picked up his first win of the season allowing three runs on five hits in two innings.
- Ethan Righter '27 earned his first collegiate save walking two batters and striking out one in two scoreless innings.
Game 2 (14-4)
How It Happened
- The Continentals racked up 17 hits, 11 RBI and a season-high six doubles.
- Hamilton held a comfortable 7-0 lead after the first inning powered by back-to-back solo homers by Sattinger and Tallarida. The Continentals scored five more runs with two outs.
- The Continentals stayed hot at the plate and produced four runs in the second frame on five hits. Kopp and Lucas Herman '26 both doubled while Dux, Rada and Jackson Johns '24 all hit singles.
- Hamilton added to its lead with one run in the fourth on two hits. Dux led off with a single through the left side and advanced to third on a double by Rada. Dux was eventually knocked in on a groundout.
- Hartford scored two runs in the bottom half on three hits and an error.
- The Continentals smacked four hits and scored two runs in the fifth.
- The Hawks were able to put up its final two runs in the seventh on three hits.
Notes
- Dux went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, scored three times and had two RBI.
- Tallarida went 2-for-4 including his fifth home run of the season. He knocked in two runs and boasts a 1.000 slugging percentage.
- Sattinger went 2-for-3 and leads the team with a .533 batting average.
- Charlie O'Brien '24 tallied two doubles and scored twice.
- Herman scored three runs and recorded his third career double.
- Rada had two hits including his first career double.
- Kopp finished with a double and a single.
- Kaufman tallied his third double in as many games and drove in two runs.
- Johns singled and plated two runs.
- Aidan Regan '24 (2-0) allowed two runs on seven hits and struck out three batters in five innings pitched.
