Women’s basketball outlasts Conn. College, Harris ’27 scores 23

First-year guard tallied a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Continentals

CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Kendall Harris '27 posted her eighth double-double this season and the Continentals defeated the Connecticut College Camels 69-63 in NESCAC action on Hamilton's Coach Tom Murphy Court inside Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Sunday, Feb. 4. 
 
Season Update
  • Hamilton (16-6, 4-4 NESCAC) has won four of its last five contests. 
  • Connecticut College (5-16, 0-8) dropped its ninth straight game. 
How It Happened
  • Conn. College opened up the final quarter with back-to-back 3-pointers to cut its deficit to eight points with 6:06 left. 
  • Trailing 60-52, the Camels sparked a quick 6-0 spurt and pulled within a basket with 3:12 to go. 
  • Harris hit a big-time 3-ball for a 63-58 lead with 2:12 remaining. 
  • Rebecca Oberman-Levine scored a put-back layup to cut the Continentals' lead to three with less than two minutes to go. 
  • Piper Seamon '24 made a clutch steal with 1:28 on the clock and eventually buried a contested 3-pointer for a 66-60 edge with 1:01 left. 
  • Oberman-Levine kept the Camels alive with a 3-ball on their next possession to trail 66-63 with 35 ticks on the clock. 
  • Emily Hall went 3-for-4 from the line in the remaining seconds for the final margin. 
  • The Continentals held a 7-2 lead on a layup and two free throws by Taylor Lambo '26 and a shot from long distance by Harris with 6:33 on the clock. 
  • Tessa Cole '25 drained a shot from 3-point territory for a 14-6 advantage with 3:23 to go. 
  • Down by seven at 16-9, Conn. College netted the last five points of the quarter to trail by just a basket at 16-14. 
  • The Camels took their only lead at 17-16 on a 3-pointer by Oberman-Levine to start the second quarter. 
  • Hamilton responded with a 10-0 spurt for a 26-17 lead with 5:45 remaining. Harris contributed the first eight points and Hall capped the run with a pull-up jumper in the paint. 
  • Harris pushed the Continentals' lead up to 10 at 32-22 with 1:49 to go. 
  • The Camels' Catie Hurley scored a layup with 23 seconds left to trail 32-24 at the break. 
  • The Continentals came out of halftime with an 11-0 run for a 43-24 cushion with 6:04 on the clock. 
  • Hamilton gathered its largest lead of 22 points at 52-30 with 3:16 to go in the third quarter. 
  • Conn. College used a 10-2 rally to slice its deficit to 14 points at 54-40 heading into the final quarter. 
  • Hamilton shot 43.4 percent (23-53) from the field, including 37.5 percent (9-24) from 3-point range, and went 14-for-19 at the charity stripe. 
  • The Camels shot 37.5 percent (24-64) from the floor and were 6-for-9 at the line. 
  • Conn. College tallied 27 points off 22 Hamilton turnovers. 
  • The Continentals owned a commanding 49-26 advantage on the glass. 
Notes
  • The 16 wins this season are the most for Hamilton women's basketball since 2006-07 when the Continentals finished 20-8 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA championship.
  • Harris finished with 23 points, 12 rebounds and two blocked shots. She was 5 of 9 from 3-point land. 
  • Lambo registered 12 points and eight rebounds. 
  • Courtney Shay '24 tallied nine points, nine boards and a pair of steals. 
  • Seamon finished with nine points, two steals and a career-high four assists. 
  • Hall chipped in seven points and a team-best seven assists. 
  • Addi Hunter recorded 12 points, five rebounds and a team-high four steals for the Camels. 
  • Oberman-Levine finished with 12 points and blocked a team-best four shots. 
  • Mia Xerras had 10 points, five rebounds and three steals. 
  • Hallie O'Toole contributed nine points on three 3-pointers off the bench. 
  • Avery Burns added seven points, three steals and a team-best four assists

The Continentals travel to Brunswick, Maine, for a NESCAC road game at Bowdoin College (20-2, 7-1) on Friday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m.
