TROY, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Nathaniel Taft '27 helped account for three event victories, including another team record, in the men's swimming and diving team's dual meet loss against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute inside RPI's Robison Pool on Saturday, Feb. 3.
The Continentals finished the regular season with a dual meet record of 2-8. Hamilton is at Colby College for the NESCAC championships – a four-day meet that starts on Thursday, Feb. 22.
Taft captured first place in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100 backstroke, and he anchored the winning 200 free relay. His record time of 50.08 seconds in the 100 back eclipsed the old mark of 50.54 seconds that Reid Swartz '15 set back in 2014. Taft's 50 free split time of 20.58 seconds in the relay was the fastest by any of the race's competitors.
