WATERVILLE, Maine – Hamilton College swimmers set three team records on the third day of the 2024 NESCAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championships at the Colby College Aquatic Center on Saturday, Feb. 24.
Nathaniel Taft '27 broke his own record in the 200-yard freestyle for the second time in three days. Taft finished second in the championship final with a time of 1:36.59, but his 1:36.22 in the morning's preliminary heats was the highlight.
Steven Roche '27 posted a team-record time of 4:01.09 and ended up in fourth place in the 400 individual medley. The old record of 4:04.28 by Bowie Sievers '11 had stood for 15 years.
Ethan del Rosario '24, Matthew Hake '26, Jack Jee '24 and
Ben Howell '24 posted a time of 1:31.37 in the 200 medley relay. Their performance clipped the previous team best of 1:31.48 set last year. Jee, Howell and del Rosario were a part of that record-setting 2023 relay as well.
Hamilton is in ninth place out of 11 teams through 18 events. The fourth and final day of the championships begins with the preliminary heats at 10 a.m., and the finals start at 5:15 p.m.
