Men's squash falls 5-4 to Bates in Summers Cup consolation final

Continentals played three tense matches at CSA Divisional Team Championships

PHILADELPHIA – Bates College swept the matches in the middle of the ladder and the Bobcats edged the Hamilton College Continentals 5-4 in the Summers Cup consolation draw final at the College Squash Association (CSA) Divisional Team Championships inside Arlen Specter US Squash Center on Sunday, Feb. 18.
 
Hamilton entered the weekend 28th in the CSA Men's Varsity Team Rankings and Bates was 26th. The Continentals finished the season with a 4-10 record.
 
Hamilton's Tate Suratt '24 swept his opponent in three games at the second position. Suratt evened his record at 7-7 and won for the 31st time in his career with the Continentals. The Bobcats won by the same score back on Jan. 14 when they visited Clinton.
 
Hamilton won all three matches in three games at the bottom of the ladder. Waleed Nisar '24 (seventh position) also improved his record to 7-7 and captured his 14th career victory.
 
Carlo Caffuzzi '27 (eighth) finished the season with an eight-match win streak and tied for the team lead with a 9-5 record. Carter Furmanek '27 (ninth) ended up with a 5-2 record after moving into the lineup in January.
