NEW LONDON, Conn. – Connecticut College's Jack Luca scored with 58 seconds left in the third period and lifted the Camels to a 3-2 NESCAC win against the Hamilton College Continentals inside Conn. College's Dayton Arena on Friday, Feb. 9.
Season Update
- Hamilton (13-7-1, 8-6-1 NESCAC) fell on the road by a 3-2 score for the second consecutive contest.
- The Camels (9-10-2, 7-8-0) swept the season series against the Continentals. Conn. College edged Hamilton 5-4 in Clinton back on Jan. 12.
How It Happened
- The other four goals were all scored in the first period. Rocco Testa-Basi gave the Camels a 1-0 lead three minutes into the first.
- Jackson Krock '26 drew the Continentals even at 7:11 of the period. A centering pass was deflected up into his chest but he was able to settle it down at his skates and scored from the right faceoff circle.
- Alex Danis '26 put Hamilton in front 2:13 later just seconds after he took an offensive zone faceoff. As multiple players hacked at the loose puck, Danis found it in the slot and snapped a quick wrist shot past the goaltender.
- The only two penalties of the night were called in the first period. A Conn. College player was issued a five-minute major for hitting from behind 14 seconds after Danis' goal, and one of the Continentals was sent to the box for hooking with 7:32 remaining.
- While the teams were skating 4-on-4, Andrew Eberling pulled the Camels into a 2-2 tie on his goal with 6:40 to go.
- A shot by Hamilton defenseman James Philpott '25 banged off the frame midway through the second period.
- The Continentals pulled their goaltender for a sixth skater with about 45 seconds left in the third. Hamilton had two shot attempts in the final seconds, both of which were blocked by Conn. College defenders.
