Men’s basketball cruises past SUNY Delhi with balanced offense

Continentals’ shot 58.8 percent from beyond the arc in the first half

CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Matthew Rideout '27 tallied a season-high 16 points and the Continentals breezed by the SUNY Delhi Broncos 97-68 on Hamilton's Coach Tom Murphy Court inside Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Thursday, Feb. 1. 
 
Season Update
  • Hamilton (10-11 overall) snapped its losing skid at four games. 
  • SUNY Delhi, which is 6-5 in the North Atlantic Conference, moved to 11-10 overall. 
How It Happened
  • The Continentals started with a 10-0 run on back-to-back 3-pointers by Teja Singh '25, a jumper by Hank Morgan '25 and a Jalen Reese '27 layup. 
  • Morgan hit a backdoor cut and dunked off a perfect pass from Owen Kane '25 for a 17-4 advantage with 14:50 on the clock. 
  • The Broncos sparked a 7-2 run to cut their deficit to eight points at 19-11 with 12 minutes remaining. 
  • Hamilton used an 8-0 spurt for a 16-point lead at 27-11 with just under 10 minutes to go. 
  • Singh and Morgan hit 3-pointers for a 48-22 cushion with 2:41 left.
  • Nate Raub '27 beat the buzzer with a 3-ball and Hamilton led 55-27 at the half. 
  • The Continentals went on a 10-0 surge for a 66-29 advantage with 16:26 left in the second half. Kane, Christian McDaniel '24, Singh and Morgan all scored during the run. 
  • Hamilton gathered its largest lead of 40 points at 81-41 with 8:43 remaining after a jumper by Rideout.
  • The Continentals led by at least 27 points the rest of the way. 
  • Hamilton shot 54.5 percent (36-66) from the floor, including 48.4 percent (15-31) from 3-point range, and went 10-for-14 at the line. 
  • Delhi shot 39.3 percent (24-61) from the field, including 8 of 16 from long distance, and was 12-for-18 at the charity stripe. 
  • The Continentals owned a 44-27 advantage on the glass. 
  • Hamilton received 47 points from its bench. 
Notes
  • Hamilton recorded its most points since the 2022-2023 season opener against SUNY Old Westbury (107-59). 
  • Rideout was 6 of 8 from the floor, including 4 of 5 from 3-point land.
  • Morgan registered 14 points, six rebounds and three assists. 
  • Singh was 3 of 4 from beyond the arc and finished with 13 points. 
  • Sharif Nelson '26 chipped in a career-high 10 points and four assists. 
  • Reese added nine points and seven rebounds. 
  • Raub contributed a season-high eight points and eight boards. 
  • Kane scored eight points and blocked two shots. 
  • McDaniel had six points and a pair of steals. 
  • The Continentals blocked eight shots and are second in the NESCAC with 5.3 per game.
  • Lester McCarthy led Delhi with 13 points and three steals. 
  • Marven Louissaint tallied 11 points and a team-best seven rebounds. 
  • Noah Colin finished with 10 points while Fauzi Cizmesija-Ulmer scored nine off the bench.

Hamilton travels to Connecticut College (15-5, 5-1) for a NESCAC road game on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 1 p.m.
