No. 12 men’s hockey clipped at Nazareth, Tchor ’27 scores twice

Sophomore forward tallied his second multi-goal game this season for the Continentals

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Nazareth University's Logan Tobias scored twice and the Golden Flyers posted a 4-2 non-conference win against the Hamilton College Continentals inside Nazareth's Tim Hortons Iceplex on Friday, Dec. 13.

Season Update

  • Hamilton (6-3-0 overall) is ranked 12th in the USCHO.com Division III Top 15 poll.
  • Nazareth, which is 2-4-2 in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference, improved to 5-4-2 overall.

How It Happened

  • Josh Dressler gave the Golden Flyers a 1-0 lead with 8:53 left in the opening period.
  • Nazareth doubled its lead on a goal by Tobias with 4:58 remaining in the first.
  • Luke Tchor '27 sliced Hamilton's deficit in half 3:33 into the second period. Tchor claimed possession of a loose puck near center ice, skated into the attacking zone and released a strong wrist shot from the left faceoff circle that zipped past goaltender Lincoln Crosby.
  • The Golden Flyers regained their two-goal advantage on a power-play goal by Tobias with 13:16 left in the second.
  • Will Halecki extended Nazareth's lead with a goal less than two minutes later for a 4-1 cushion.
  • Tchor made the connection again for the Continentals – this time on a power-play goal with 12:31 left in the third period. Hamilton was able to keep the puck onside after a missed shot attempt and Devon de Vries '27 gained control along the far-side boards. James Philpott '25 fed it to Tchor at the top of the right faceoff circle, and with a generous amount of space, Tchor settled the puck and fired a shot through traffic into the net.
  • Hamilton traded goaltender Aksel Reid '27 for an extra skater with 1:46 left. The Continentals gathered three shot attempts, but none on target.
