ITHACA, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Hank Morgan '25 poured in a season-high 26 points and the Continentals held off the Ithaca College Bombers down the stretch for a 73-70 non-conference win at Ithaca's Ben Light Gymnasium on Tuesday night, Dec. 10.

Season Update

  • Hamilton (8-1 overall) extended its win streak to seven games and is 6-0 in true road contests.
  • The Bombers (5-3), who are 2-0 in the Liberty League, suffered their first home loss in four games this season.

How It Happened

  • The Continentals led 39-32 at the break and went up by 10 points twice in the second half, including 46-36 after two free throws by Morgan with 16:23 left.
  • Ithaca went on a 12-2 run and tied the score for the last time at 48-48 on a layup by Logan Wendell with 13:12 remaining.
  • A layup by Morgan started a six-point Hamilton spurt and put the Continentals in front for good at 50-48 with 11:57 to go.
  • The Bombers cut their deficit to one point at 56-55 with 8:53 left when Aidan Holmes was fouled while shooting a 3-pointer and made all three free throws.
  • Hamilton responded with a 10-2 run that gave the Continentals a more comfortable nine-point cushion at 66-57. Teja Singh '25 sandwiched a pair of 3-pointers around a layup by Ithaca's Jaylon O'Neal, Morgan drained two free throws, and Owen Kane '25 sank two more with 4:56 remaining.
  • The Bombers didn't get within one possession again until Evan Cabral's layup pulled them within 71-68 with 10 seconds to go. Singh was immediately fouled on the ensuing inbounds play and his two free throws sealed the victory.
  • Hamilton led for the majority of the first half. The Continentals enjoyed their largest advantage of the night of 11 points at 32-21 on a dunk by Morgan with 4:28 left. Ithaca led twice – at 2-0 and again at 16-15 after an old-fashioned 3-point play by Holmes midway through the half.
