MARCY, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Taylor Lambo '26 led all players with 16 points and the Continentals cruised to a 74-42 win against the SUNY Polytechnic Wildcats at SUNY Poly's Wildcat Field House on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
Season Update
- Hamilton (4-1 overall) played its first five games away from home.
- The Wildcats, who are members of the Empire 8 Athletic Conference, dipped to 1-4 overall.
How It Happened
- Knotted at 6-6 with 2:45 left in the opening quarter, Lambo hit back-to-back layups for a four-point edge heading into the second frame.
- The Continentals started the second quarter with the first two baskets for a 14-6 lead with 8:41 to go.
- Kendall Harris '27 drained a 3-ball from the left wing and Althea Hill '26 made a layup that gave Hamilton a 19-6 advantage with 7:08 remaining.
- SUNY Poly was held scoreless for the first 3:55 of the quarter. Alivia Turk claimed the Wildcats' first three points with 6:05 remaining.
- The Wildcats cut the Continentals' lead back to single digits at 22-13 with 3:06 left.
- Hamilton closed out the quarter on a 10-0 run for a comfortable 32-13 advantage at the break. Lambo, Sam Glickman '25, Tessa Cole '25 and Harris all scored during the spurt.
- Lambo scored Hamilton's first six points in the third quarter. Cole drained a shot from beyond the arc and then buried a jumper that stretched Hamilton's advantage to 26 points at 43-17 with 5:06 left.
- The Continentals outpaced the Wildcats 13-4 in the remaining 4:42 and owned a 56-21 cushion heading into the final quarter.
- Hamilton took a 41-point lead at 64-23 on a 3-pointer by Sophie Blomberg '26 early in the fourth.
- Trailing 67-23, the Wildcats countered with a 14-0 run and narrowed their deficit to 30 points at 67-37 with 3:49 left.
- Hamilton shot 42.6 percent (29-68) from the field, including 42.9 percent (6-14) from 3-point range, and was 10-for-18 at the charity stripe.
- The Continentals held the Wildcats to 34.6 percent (18-52) shooting from the field.
- Hamilton tallied 36 points off 31 SUNY Poly turnovers and owned a 30-15 advantage in bench points.
- The Continentals were credited with a season-best 22 steals – their most in a game since the 2019-20 season.
