Women’s basketball cruises to 68-50 win at SUNY Morrisville

Lambo '26 posted 15 points and 14 rebounds for another double-double

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Taylor Lambo '26 had 15 points and Erica Hills '28 netted 14 as the Continentals cruised to a 68-50 non-conference victory over the SUNY Morrisville Mustangs inside Morrisville's STUAC Gymnasium on Friday, Nov. 22. 
 

Season Update

  • Hamilton (3-1 overall) has played all four of its games away from home.
  • Morrisville, which is a member of the SUNYAC, moved to 2-2 overall.  

How It Happened

  • Scoreless through the first four minutes, the Mustangs' Anyssia Ingersoll scored the first points on a field goal from distance with 5:57 to go in the first quarter.
  • Lambo countered on the other end with Hamilton's opening layup with 5:32 left.
  • Ingersoll netted another 3-pointer for a 6-2 Mustangs lead. 
  • Hamilton took off on a 7-0 run and led 9-6 with 2:34 remaining. Kendall Harris '27 started the spurt with a jumper and Zoe Myslewicz '28 capped it with a layup. 
  • Lambo made a steal near half-court and Hills finished a fast-break layup for a five-point lead at 14-9 with 32 seconds left. 
  • Morrisville's Abbie Platt closed out the quarter with two free throws and the Mustangs trailed 14-11. 
  • Hamilton's Althea Hill '26 opened up the second frame with a 3-ball.
  • The Continentals went scoreless over the next two minutes until Lambo drained a pair at the line for a 19-15 advantage. 
  • Harris blocked a Morrisville 3-point attempt from the top of the arc and Lambo made a layup for a 23-17 edge with 3:37 left in the half. 
  • Hamilton completed its 11-0 run for a 30-17 advantage with 38 seconds left. Hills tallied seven of those points while Lambo contributed the remaining four. 
  • Celeste Baldwin buried a 3-pointer for the Mustangs and they trailed by 10 at 30-20 heading into the break. 
  • The Mustangs started the third quarter on a 5-0 run and cut the Continentals' lead to five points. 
  • The Continentals took off on another 11-point run and held a comfortable 44-28 lead with 3:09 remaining in the third. 
  • Hills buried a 3-pointer and Harris made a layup for a 49-30 lead with 2:15 to go. 
  • Myslewicz finished the quarter with a jumper for a 16-point Hamilton lead at 53-37. 
  • Hamilton continued to outpace the Mustangs and led by as many as 22 points at 64-42 with 5:08 left in the fourth quarter.  
  • Morrisville capitalized on three turnovers by the Continentals and rallied for seven straight points, but still trailed 64-49 with 1:22 to go. 
  • Kieonna Christmas knocked down one free throw for the Mustangs with one second left for the final margin. 
  • Hamilton shot 39.1 percent (25-64) from the field and 68.2 percent (15-22) at the charity stripe.
  • The Continentals tallied 36 points in the paint to the Mustangs' 14. 
  • Hamilton collected a season-high 60 rebounds.  

Notes

  • Hamilton has defeated Morrisville in their last four meetings. 
  • Lambo added her second double-double of the season as she grabbed 14 rebounds. She finished 7-for-10 at the line. 
  • Hills had a season-high in points and added five rebounds and three assists off the bench.
  • Harris filled the stat sheet with 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and a season-best three blocks. 
  • Myslewicz chipped in eight points and five rebounds. 
  • Hannah Bernstein '28 handed out a season-best and team-high seven assists. 
  • Tessa Cole '25 collected six defensive rebounds for the Continentals. 
  • Ingersoll led Morrisville with 16 points. She added five rebounds and four assists. 
  • Baldwin contributed nine points off the bench. 
  • Christmas finished with seven points, seven boards and three assists.  
  • Platt collected seven rebounds and a team-best five steals for the Mustangs.  

Next Game

Hamilton travels to local opponent SUNY Polytechnic (0-3) for another non-conference road contest on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 4 p.m.
