Men's hockey cruises to second road win in as many nights

Bulawka '26 led the offense with three points and Reid '27 made 25 saves in 5-1 victory

AUBURN, Mass. – Hamilton College's Max Bulawka '26 scored a goal and added two assists in the Continentals' 5-1 non-conference win against Anna Maria College inside Horgan Arena on Sunday evening, Nov. 17.

Season Update

  • Anna Maria (3-1-0), which is a member of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, is also receiving votes in the USCHO.com poll.

How It Happened

  • The Continentals grabbed a 1-0 lead at 10:09 of the first period and led the rest of the way. Justin Biraben '27 skated into the attacking zone during a power play and his wrist shot from near the dot in the left faceoff circle beat the goaltender high on the glove side.
  • Grisha Gotovets '25 gave Hamilton a two-goal advantage with 7:18 left in the first. Nick Kent '27 took a shot from above the right faceoff circle while Gotovets was standing in the circle. He tipped the puck as it sailed past him and it snuck inside the left post.
  • Bulawka made it 3-0 just 1:57 into the second period. The Amcats lost the puck in their defensive zone near the blue line along the left-side boards. Bulawka collected the loose puck and unleashed a wrist shot from the high slot that found the back of the net.
  • The Continentals took a four-goal cushion 25 seconds into a two-man advantage. James Philpott '25 scored on a one-timer from above the right faceoff circle after a pass from Luke Tchor '27 with 6:59 remaining in the third period.
  • Max Pelletier spoiled Hamilton's shutout bid with 4:46 to go in the third.
  • Noah Leibl '27 restored the Continentals' four-goal lead on an unassisted tally with 1:19 left. Leibl came out of the penalty box and stole a pass at Hamilton's defensive blue line. He skated in one-on-one with the goaltender and scored on the backhand.
