CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Luke Tchor '27 and
Alex Danis '26 scored two goals apiece in the Continentals' 6-3 NESCAC win over the Wesleyan University Cardinals inside Hamilton's Russell Sage Rink on Saturday night, Nov. 23.
Season Update
- The Continentals (3-0-0, 2-0 NESCAC), who are receiving votes in the USCHO.com Division III Top 15 poll, have scored 16 goals in their first three games.
- Wesleyan (0-3-0, 0-3) is still searching for its first win and has allowed 15 goals in three contests.
How It Happened
- Danis broke a 3-3 tie on his power-play goal with 7:17 left in the third period. He received a pass from Ben Zimmerman '26 below the goal line near the right post. Danis turned and a whipped a shot that tucked inside the left post.
- Tchor added an insurance goal with 2:56 remaining. Ryan Brown '25 picked up a loose puck at the blue line near Hamilton's attacking zone. Brown dropped it off to Tchor in the neutral zone and he skated to the top of the left faceoff circle where he ripped a wrist shot that beat the goaltender high on his glove side.
- Noah Leibl '27 sealed the victory on an empty-net goal with 1:13 to go. The Cardinals had a six-on-four advantage after one of the Continentals was sent to the penalty box for tripping and Wesleyan pulled its goaltender with 1:22 left. Leibl intercepted a pass in Hamilton's defensive zone, skated to the blue line near the Continentals' bench and flipped a shot that slipped inside the left post.
- Hamilton grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first period just 10 seconds after winning the opening faceoff. Devon de Vries '27 intercepted a pass behind the Cardinals' net and passed to Jackson Krock '26 at the bottom of the right faceoff circle. Krock threw a centering pass to Tchor at the top of the crease and he redirected the puck into the wide-open net.
- Hayden Hanes drew Wesleyan even 3:21 into the first, but Zimmerman restored the Continentals' one-goal lead with 4:48 remaining in the period. Trey Williams '28 started a rush up the ice with a pass ahead to Leibl, who found Zimmerman for a short wrist shot from the right faceoff circle.
- Danis gave Hamilton a brief two-goal advantage 7:25 into the second period. Nick Kent '27 retrieved a loose puck in the Continentals' defensive zone and fired a stretch pass to Danis near the opposite blue line. He skated into the right circle and unleashed a wrist shot from the faceoff dot into the back of the net for a 3-1 lead.
- Ethan Davidson cut the Cardinals' deficit in half 31 seconds later, and Hanes tied the score a second time with 9:12 to go in the second.

- Danis tallied his second game-winning goal this season.
- Tchor registered the third multi-goal game of his Hamilton career. He leads the team with seven points.
- Leibl had a goal and an assist for his first multi-point game with the Continentals.
- Zimmerman chipped in a goal and an assist for his first multi-point game since Jan. 19, 2024, at Amherst College.
- Kent collected two assists and leads Hamilton with five.
- Williams posted his first collegiate point in his second game with the Continentals.
- Krock has at least one point in all three games and six total. He won 15-of-21 faceoffs and has won 71 percent this season.
- Aksel Reid '27 made 16 of his 23 saves in the second period.
- Hanes paced the Wesleyan offense with two goals and an assist.
- Davidson contributed a goal and two helpers.
- Ethan Fehrenbaker stopped 16 shots in the first period and finished with 28 saves.
- Hamilton won 33-of-51 faceoffs.
- The Continentals held an 18-4 shot advantage in the first period. The Cardinals turned the tables in the second period and outshot Hamilton 18-8.
- Wesleyan came up empty on six power-play opportunities and had five shots on goal during those power plays.
- The Continentals were 1-for-3 on the power play.
- Hamilton extended its win streak against the Cardinals to four games.
- The Continentals honored Dennis Murphy and Dick Tantillo before the game with a ceremonial puck drop.
