Men's hockey blitzes Amherst in 5-2 NESCAC road victory

Krock '26 nets his first career hat trick for the Continentals

AMHERST, Mass. – Hamilton College's Jackson Krock '26 recorded his first career hat trick and the Continentals posted a 5-2 NESCAC win against the Amherst College Mammoths inside Amherst's Orr Rink on Saturday night, Nov. 16.

Season Update

  • Hamilton is receiving votes in the USCHO.com Division III Top 15 poll.

How It Happened

  • The Continentals turned a 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 lead with three goals in the second period.
  • Hamilton tied the score with 6:07 left in the second. Luke Tchor '27 took a shot from the bottom of the right faceoff circle and the puck deflected off Krock, who was tied up with a defender just outside the crease, and settled in the back of the net.
  • The Continentals went in front for good 56 seconds later. Ryan Brown '25 sent a pass from the bottom of the right faceoff circle to Alex Danis '26 in the slot, and Danis' low wrist shot beat the goaltender through the five hole.
  • Krock made it 4-2 with 43 seconds remaining in the period while the teams were skating four-on-four. Tchor forced a turnover behind the Amherst net and sent a centering pass to Krock in the slot. His wrist shot eluded the goaltender high on the glove side.
  • Krock sealed the victory on a power-play goal with 5:05 to go in the third period. James Philpott '25 took a shot from the point as Krock was standing at the top of the crease where he tipped the puck out of midair and past the netminder.
  • Tchor gave Hamilton a 1-0 lead 7:07 into the first period. The Continentals caused a turnover at their defensive blue line and Krock carried the puck into the attacking zone on a two-on-one. He passed to Tchor in the left faceoff circle for a wicked wrist shot that found the back of the net.
  • The Mammoths tied the score on a power-play goal by Zack Jesse 63 seconds later. They grabbed a 2-1 lead with 2:48 left in the first on a goal by Ryan Corcoran.
