Kendall Harris '27 dropped in 16 points and
Taylor Lambo '26 netted 15 as the Continentals battled to a 59-57 win against the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons in the Oneonta & Hartwick Classic inside Hartwick College's Lambros Arena on Saturday, Nov. 16.
Season Update
- Hamilton (2-0 overall) defeated Hartwick 73-50 on Friday night.
- Oneonta (1-2), which is a member of the State University of New York Athletic Conference, dropped its second straight contest.
How It Happened
- After a 3-pointer by Oneonta, Harris hit one of her own for a 43-37 lead with 9:27 left in the final quarter.
- The Red Dragons made baskets on four straight possessions and knotted the score at 51-51 with 5:13 remaining.
- Lambo made a layup off a pass from Harris and completed the and-one play for a 54-51 lead with just under four minutes left.
- Oneonta pulled within one point three times in the last three minutes, but the Continentals went 3-for-4 at the charity stripe in the final 1:39.
- Oneonta called a timeout with 0.3 seconds left for a baseline out-of-bounds play, but the Red Dragons' last-second attempt fell short.
- Hannah Bernstein '28 nailed back-to-back 3-pointers for an 8-2 lead in the opening quarter.
- The Red Dragons went on a five-point run and slashed their deficit to one possession at 8-6. Zoe Myslewicz '28 responded with a put-back layup, but Oneonta hit a 3-ball and trailed 10-9 with 3:23 left.
- Lambo scored her first points on a layup for a 12-9 edge with less than a minute to go.
- Oneonta's Emma Schwarzbeck closed out the quarter with a layup and made it 12-11.
- The Red Dragons started the second quarter on a 5-0 run for a 16-12 advantage with 8:29 to go.
- The Continentals evened the score at 16-16 midway through the quarter on layups by Annabelle Semeter '28 and Myslewicz.
- Oneonta gathered its largest lead of the contest of eight points at 24-16 with less than three minutes remaining. Hamilton wasn't fazed as the Continentals ended the half on a 7-0 spree after a layup and a 3-pointer by Harris and a last-minute layup by Erica Hills '28 for a one-point deficit at 24-23.
- Tied 31-31 in the third quarter, Harris hit another layup and finished the three-point play at the line for a 34-31 advantage with 5:22 left.
- Lambo went to work and hit a pair of layups for a seven-point lead at 38-31 with just under four minutes to go. The Red Dragons were able to close out the quarter on a 5-2 spurt and narrowed its deficit to 40-36.
- The contest featured six ties and five lead changes.
- Oneonta tallied 14 points off turnovers to Hamilton's two.
- Hamilton shot 35.6 percent (21-59) from the floor and was 10-for-15 at the line.
- The Continentals racked up 28 points in the paint and owned a 44-30 advantage on the glass.

- Bernstein and Myslewicz made the all-tournament team.
- Hamilton has won its last three meetings with Oneonta.

- Lambo recorded her 16th career double-double with 15 points and a game-high 16 rebounds.
