CLINTON, N.Y. – Bowdoin College's Alex Kozic made 35 saves and the Polar Bears defeated the Hamilton College Continentals 2-0 inside Hamilton's Russell Sage Rink on Saturday, Jan. 6.
Season Update
- The Continentals (9-3, 5-2 NESCAC) were shut out for the first time this season.
- Bowdoin (8-2-1, 4-2-1) won its fifth straight game.
How It Happened
- Gabe Shipper gave the Polar Bears a 1-0 lead 4:44 into the first period. Andy Stoneman picked up an assist.
- Shipper returned the favor with 2:04 left in the second period when he assisted on Stoneman's goal. Patrick Callahan had the secondary helper.
- Hamilton pulled its goaltender for an extra skater for most of the last 3:30 of the third period. The Continentals recorded eight shot attempts including three on goal in the final minutes. Three more shots were blocked by Bowdoin defenders.
Notes
- Jack Grant '24 made 28 stops for Hamilton.
- The Continentals won 41 of 66 faceoffs. Ben Zimmerman '26 (12 of 20), Ryan Brown '25 (10 of 13) and Max Bulawka '26 (10 of 16) led the way.
- Hamilton was 0-for-5 on the power play while the Polar Bears were 0-for-4. The Continentals have given up just one power-play goal this season.
- Hamilton received votes in the most recent USCHO.com Division III Top 15 poll.
