CLINTON, N.Y. – Connecticut College's Michael DiMascolo scored the go-ahead goal at 7:55 in the third period and the Camels held on for a 5-4 NESCAC win against the Hamilton College Continentals inside Hamilton's Russell Sage Rink on Friday, Jan. 12.
Season Update
- The Continentals (9-4-0, 5-3 NESCAC) dropped their second game in a row on home ice.
- Conn. College (5-5-2, 3-4-0) is unbeaten in its last four contests.
How It Happened
- Hamilton rallied to tie the score three times but never led.
- The teams combined to score four goals in the last 7:37 of the first period. Seth Stadheim and Devan Newhook had goals and gave the Camels a 2-0 lead with 4:23 left in the first.
- Luke Tchor '27 cut the Conn. College lead in half with 3:23 remaining when he collected a rebound and fired the puck into the back of the net.
- William Neault '25 tied it at 2-2 with 36.6 seconds to go. Neault scored on a wrist shot from above the left faceoff circle.
- Cole Eichler put the Camels back in front at 7:57 of the second period.
- Jackson Krock '26 drew the Continentals even again 59 seconds later when he tipped a shot by Cameron Miranda '26 past the goaltender.
- John Harrington made it 4-3 with 2:06 left in the second.
- Tchor pulled Hamilton into a 4-4 deadlock as he tipped a shot from the left point by Neault at 7:13 in the third period. DiMascolo scored just 42 seconds after Tchor's second goal of the night.
- The Continentals failed to convert on a power play late in the third and had an empty net for most of the final 1:40 as they tried to score for a fifth time.
Notes
- Tchor recorded his first three-point game (two goals, one assist) at Hamilton. He leads the NESCAC with 16.
- Krock, who had a goal and an assist, registered his fourth career multi-point game. He also won 15 of 19 faceoffs.
- Neault had a goal and an assist for his second career two-point contest with the Continentals.
- Logan Greene '24 blocked three shots.
- Jack Grant '24 made 13 saves for Hamilton.
- Stadheim and Eichler contributed a goal and an assist apiece for Conn. College. Rocco Testa-Basi was credited with two assists.
- Sean Dynan stopped 35 shots for the Camels.
- The Continentals were 0-for-5 on the power play and Conn. College was 0-for-2. Hamilton has surrendered just one power-play goal in 13 games.
