CLINTON, N.Y. – Middlebury College's Augusta Dixon registered 19 points and nine rebounds and the Panthers came from behind for a 57-54 win against the Hamilton College Continentals on Tom Murphy Court inside Hamilton's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Friday, Jan. 5.
Season Update

How It Happened
- The Continentals jumped out to a 9-4 lead three minutes into the opening quarter.
- Emily Hall '24 drained a shot from beyond the arc and gave Hamilton an eight-point lead at 18-10 with 3:02 to go.
- The Continentals were 10 of 20 from the floor in the first quarter and led 22-16 after 10 minutes.
- The Panthers opened the second quarter with a 7-1 run and evened the score at 23-23 with 4:07 left.
- Piper Seamon '24 and Courtney Shay '24 combined for all eight points in an 8-0 spurt, and Hamilton sprinted back out to a 31-23 advantage with 2:32 remaining in the half.
- Middlebury countered with six straight points and slashed its deficit to two at the break, 31-29.
- Hamilton claimed the first three points of the third quarter, but the Panthers rallied with eight of the next 10 and took their first lead at 37-36 with 4:01 remaining.
- With Middlebury trailing 41-39, Dixon completed a classic three-point play and converted another layup for a 44-41 edge heading into the final quarter.
- The Continentals strung together five straight points and knotted the score at 48-48 with 5:05 left.
- Alexa Mustafaj hit a 3-pointer for the Panthers, but Kendall Harris '27 answered with a jumper and an old-fashioned 3-point play for a two-point Hamilton lead at 53-51 with just under two minutes to go.
- The Continentals still led 54-53 with 1:15 remaining after a Taylor Lambo '26 free throw.
- The Panthers went 4-for-6 at the line in the final 54 seconds.
- Hamilton missed both its shots and committed a turnover with chances to either tie or take the lead on its last three possessions.
- Hamilton shot 36.7 percent (22-60) from the field, including 5 of 18 from beyond the arc, and went 5-for-11 at the line.
- Middlebury shot 34.4 percent (22-64) from the floor but went 11-for-13 at the charity stripe.
- The Panthers had a 15-6 advantage in points off turnovers.
Notes
- Lambo topped the Continentals with 16 points.
- Harris recorded her seventh double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
- Shay tied a season high with 10 points while Seamon added eight.
- Hall chipped in seven points, four assists and a pair of steals.
- Mustafaj tallied 15 points, which was more than seven below her season average, and Emily Downer chipped in 13 off the bench.
