CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Nathaniel Taft '27 broke his own team record and set the Bristol Pool mark in the men's 200-yard freestyle in a tri-meet against Williams College and Middlebury College on Saturday, Jan. 27.
Hamilton's dual meet record dipped to 2-6 after losses to nationally ranked No. 8 Williams and Middlebury. The Continentals honored
Joshua Chase '24, Ethan Chiu '24, Ethan del Rosario '24, Ben Howell '24, Jack Jee '24 and
Matt McGregor '24 with a senior recognition ceremony before the meet.
Taft's time of 1:40.04 was better than the 1:40.52 he recorded at Ithaca College's invitational on Dec. 2. Union College's Scott Bowden had held the pool record of 1:41.37 since 1995. Taft took first place in the 50, 100 and 200 free, and led off the winning 200 free relay. His split time of 20.82 seconds was the fastest of any swimmer from the three schools. Jee claimed another event victory for Hamilton in the 100 butterfly.
The Continentals travel to Tufts University for a dual meet on Friday, Feb. 2 at 4 p.m.
