Men’s basketball clipped at No. 5 Trinity, Morgan ’25 scores 13

Continentals make the short trip to Wesleyan for another conference game on Saturday

 HARTFORD, Conn. – Trinity College's Henry Vetter scored 14 points and the Bantams cruised to an 80-51 against the Hamilton College Continentals in NESCAC action at Trinity's Ray Oosting Gymnasium on Friday, Jan. 26. 
 
Season Update
  • Hamilton (9-10, 3-3 NESCAC) dropped its third straight contest. 
  • Trinity (19-0, 5-0) is ranked 5th in the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll.  
How It Happened
  • Teja Singh '25 hit back-to-back jumpers for a 4-2 lead less than two minutes into the opening half. 
  • The Bantams ran off an 11-0 run and took the lead for good at 13-4 lead with 16:08 on the clock. 
  • Will Holmes '27 cut Hamilton's deficit to eight points at 16-8 on a dunk with 14:41 remaining. 
  • Up 19-11, Trinity scored the next seven points for a 26-11 advantage. 
  • Hank Morgan '25 hit a pair at the line and Graham Robinson '25 netted a 3-pointer to slash Trinity's lead to 10 points at 29-19 with 8:19 left to play. 
  • The Bantams ran off another 10-0 spurt for a 39-19 advantage with just under six minutes to go. 
  • Morgan scored Hamilton's next six points, but the Bantams held a comfortable 47-29 lead at the break.
  • Owen Kane '25 opened the second half with a layup for a 47-31 score. 
  • The Bantams led by 20 or more points for the final 12:58. 
  • Hamilton shot 36 percent (18-50) from the field and went 12-for-17 at the charity stripe. 
  • Trinity shot 49.1 percent (27-55) from the field, including 34.8 percent (8-23) from 3-point land, and went 18-for-19 at the line. 
  • The Bantams owned a 36-28 advantage on the glass. 
  • Trinity posted 36 points in the paint and 32 points from its bench.

  • Morgan led Hamilton with 13 points. 
  • Matthew Rideout '27 chipped in eight points off the bench. 
  • Garret Keyhani '26 added seven points and two assists. 
  • Singh handed out a team-high three assists. 
  • Connor Jenkins '27 grabbed a team-best six rebounds. 
  • Ben Callahan-Gold dropped in 11 points and eight rebounds for the Bantams. 
  • Dana Smith collected nine points, five rebounds and two steals. 
  • Jarrel Okorougo finished with nine points and two steals. 
  • Will Dorion passed out five assists.

Hamilton travels to Middletown, Conn., for another NESCAC road game at Wesleyan University (11-8, 2-3) on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 2 p.m.
