Truchon '26 celebrated her first goal for the Continentals

CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Lilly Truchon '26 scored her first collegiate goal and Teagan Brown '27 made 20 saves as the Continentals and the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons played to a 1-1 tie inside Hamilton's Russell Sage Rink on Tuesday, Jan. 23.

Season Update

  • The seventh-ranked Continentals (11-3-2 overall) came into tonight riding a five-game win streak.
  • Nationally ranked No. 15 SUNY Cortland (14-3-2) had won its previous seven contests.

How It Happened

  • Truchon tied the score at 2:31 in the third period. Cuora Sullivan '26 took a shot from the blue line above the right faceoff circle. Truchon was positioned near the right post and tipped the shot out of midair past the goaltender.
  • Hamilton was handed a power play midway through the third but the Continentals could only muster one shot on goal during the two minutes.
  • The Red Dragons had five shot attempts with three on goal in the five-minute, sudden-victory overtime period. Hamilton posted four shot attempts with two on goal.
  • Drew Kopek put Cortland in the lead 10:44 into the first period. Hayley Hunter forced a turnover in the neutral zone and the puck popped forward to Kopek for a breakaway opportunity.
  • The Continentals killed a five-minute major for hitting from behind late in the first.
