WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Hamilton College's
Claire McGennis '24 scored with 52 seconds left in the sudden-victory overtime period and lifted the Continentals to a 1-0 NESCAC win over the Williams College Ephs inside Williams' Lansing Chapman Rink on Friday, Jan. 12.
Season Update
- The seventh-ranked Continentals (9-3-1, 3-3-1 NESCAC) extended their win streak to three games and improved to 3-1-1 in overtime contests.
- The Ephs (6-4-2, 4-2-1) were shut out for the first time this season.
How It Happened
- Hamilton's Lydia Bullock '26 won an offensive zone faceoff to Cuora Sullivan '26 and eventually the puck found its way to McGennis as the teams skated 3-on-3 in overtime. The Continentals had four shots on goal and Williams put two on net during the extra period.
Notes
- McGennis is tied for first in the NESCAC with eight goals and tied for the team lead with nine points.
- Teagan Brown '27 made 23 saves for her third shutout in 11 starts. Brown has a 1.26 goals against average and .945 save percentage.
- Bullock extended her point streak to three games.
- Sullivan recorded her second assist this season and the third of her Hamilton career.
- Lisa Ito-Bagshaw '25 won 8 of 10 faceoffs for the Continentals.
- Erin Pye kept the Ephs in the game by making 58 saves.
- Both teams were 0-for-2 on the power play. Hamilton has allowed just two power-play goals in 13 games.
- The Continentals have won four of the last five meetings with Williams.
