Women’s basketball bested by Bates, Hall ’24 scores 17

Senior guard tallies her fifth double-digit game in the last six for the Continentals

LEWISTON, Maine – Bates College's Morgan Kennedy registered 26 points and the Bobcats secured an 82-66 NESCAC win against the Hamilton College Continentals at Bates' Alumni Gym on Friday, Jan. 12. 
 
Season Update
  • Hamilton (12-4, 1-2 NESCAC) has lost three of its last four contests. 
  • Bates (13-2, 2-0) won its fourth straight game.  
How It Happened
  • Bates jumped out to a 10-2 lead in the opening 3:30. 
  • The Bobcats used a 13-2 spurt later in the quarter and held a 16-point lead at 25-9 with 2:12 left. 
  • Piper Seamon '24 scored a layup and cut Hamilton's deficit to 14 points at 27-13 at the end of the first.
  • The Bobcats kept their foot on the gas and held a 23-point lead at 40-17 and 42-19 midway through the second quarter. 
  • The Continentals rattled off nine straight points and pulled within 14 at 42-28 with just under two minutes. 
  • Bates, which led 48-33 at the break, started out hot again in the third quarter and led by as many as 25 points at 65-40 with 4:35 left. 
  • Hamilton outscored the Bobcats by three in the final quarter, but the Bobcats held a comfortable double-digit lead to the finish.  
  • Hamilton shot 49.1 percent from the floor (28-57), but was just 1 of 10 from long distance. The Continentals went 9-for-16 at the line. 
  • Bates shot 51.8 percent (29-56) from the field, including 12 of 19 in the first quarter. The Bobcats were 6 of 14 from beyond the arc and 18-for-25 at the charity stripe. 
  • Bates scored 19 points off 15 Continentals turnovers. 
Notes
  • Emily Hall '24 paced Hamilton with 17 points. Hall has scored in double figures in five of the last six games.
  • Taylor Lambo '26 recorded 11 points, a team-best six rebounds and four assists.  
  • Kendall Harris '27 contributed 10 points before fouling out with 2:41 left. 
  • Kennedy was 7 of 8 from the field and 9-for-9 at the line for the Bobcats. 
  • Elsa Daulerio tallied 18 points and a game-high eight boards. 
  • Sophie Spolter netted nine points off the bench and fellow reserve Sarah Hughes chipped in eight.

Hamilton travels down to Medford, Mass., to face Tufts University (9-5, 1-1) on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 3 p.m.
