Women's soccer remains unbeaten with 2-0 victory at Oswego

Moses '25 and Vaillancourt '24 scored goals, Tonna '26 posted shutout for the Continentals

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Hamilton College Continentals scored two goals in the first half and went on to a 2-0 non-conference road win against SUNY Oswego at Laker Turf Stadium on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
 

Season Update

  • Hamilton remained unbeaten with an overall record of 1-0-2. The Continentals have allowed one goal in three matches.
  • Oswego (2-1-1 overall) suffered its first loss this season.
 

How It Happened

  • Katie Moses '25 gave Hamilton a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute on a shot from close range following a corner kick. Evie McCreery '26 was credited with an assist.
  • Alexi Vaillancourt '24 made it a two-goal cushion in the 37th minute. Erin Rayhill '25 picked up an assist.
  • Emma Kelesoglu '27 nearly added to the Continentals' lead three minutes later, but her shot was cleared off the line by a Laker defender.
  • Oswego didn't offer much of a challenge in the second half as they mustered a shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but not much else.
 

Notes

  • Nieve Tonna '26 made two saves in her first start this season and posted her second career shutout at Hamilton.
  • Moses notched her first goal in three seasons for the Continentals.
  • McCreery collected her second assist and fourth point at Hamilton.
  • Vaillancourt came off the bench and recorded her first collegiate goal.
  • Rayhill has assisted on two of the Continentals' three goals this fall.
  • Perri Anderson stopped five shots for the Lakers.
  • Hamilton held a 15-4 shot advantage and took seven corner kicks to Oswego's three.
  • Head Coach Colette Gilligan is a perfect 21-0-0 against the Lakers.

The Continentals host nationally ranked No. 14 Middlebury College for a NESCAC contest on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 11 a.m.
