Ephs scored the game-winner with 2:16 to go in the fourth quarter

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Williams College's Franny Donohue scored her fourth goal of the night with 2:16 left in the fourth quarter and lifted the Ephs to a 9-8 NESCAC win against the Hamilton College Continentals at Williams' Farley-Lamb Field on Tuesday night.

Season Update

  • Nationally ranked No. 25 Hamilton (4-8, 1-7 NESCAC) dropped its fifth straight game.
  • The 14th-ranked Ephs (10-1, 5-1) won their 10th in a row after they opened the season with a loss.

How It Happened

  • Caroline Pratt made the save on a shot by the Continentals' Sydney Klepper '26 with 3:19 remaining and Isabel Arvelo picked up the ground ball for Williams. The Ephs worked the ball around for an open shot and after nearly 60 seconds, Lauren Morganlander fed Donohue for the game-winner.
  • Williams won the ensuing draw but turned it over with about a minute to go. Hamilton called a timeout with 34 seconds left and Alana King '24 took a shot that was blocked with 22 seconds remaining. Pratt gained control of the loose ball and the Ephs ran out the clock.
  • The score was tied 2-2 after one quarter before Clarissa Hurley '23 gave the Continentals their last lead with 12:49 to go in the second on a pass from Sarah Moore '23.
  • Williams scored the next four goals and held a 6-3 advantage at the half.
  • Sarah Creamer '26 scored twice in the last 3:35 of the third quarter and pulled Hamilton within one at 7-6 with 15 minutes left.
