WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Hamilton College Continentals were swept by the Williams College Ephs in a NESCAC doubleheader at Williams' Cole Field on Saturday afternoon.
Season Update
- Hamilton moved to 14-12 overall and 4-6 in the NESCAC.
- Williams (7-9, 3-1) took a 5-0 win in the opener and posted a 10-4 triumph in Game 2.
Game 1
How It Happened
- Williams jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on two singles, two errors and a walk.
- The Ephs added a pair of insurance runs in the bottom half of the third on a Sydney Fleming home run with one out.
Notes
- Emma Tansky '25, Alessandra Priante '24 and Alison Zorn '26 had Hamilton's three singles.
- Natalie Beebe '24 collected five strikeouts in the circle. Beebe allowed three earned runs on eight hits in six innings.
- Williams' Tayler Wise tallied a team-best two hits including a double.
- Sadie Leonard allowed just three hits and two walks in seven innings and struck out 14 for the Ephs.
Game 2
How It Happened
- The Ephs wasted no time and opened the scoring in the first inning on a grand slam by Fleming.
- Hamilton cut its deficit to 4-2 with two runs in the top of the third. Zorn singled up the middle, Alexis Mayer '26 followed with an infield hit and Jordan Merklin '26 plated Zorn on a fielder's choice after Zorn and Mayer had advanced on a passed ball. Priante drove in Merklin with another infield single.
- Williams countered with three runs on a trio of hits and a walk in the bottom half of the inning.
- The Continentals pulled within 7-4 on a pair of runs in the fifth. Merklin laced a one-out triple down the line in left and scored on an infield single by Katlynn McGivney '23. McGivney came home on a sacrifice fly by Priante.
- Williams clinched the win with a two-out, three-run homer by Alyana Granados.
Notes
- Priante plated a team-best two runs on two hits. She has hit safely in 14 of the last 15 games and raised her batting average to .370 on the season.
- McGivney boasted a pair of singles.
- Ella Heftved '25 and Charlie Quinn '25 contributed one hit apiece.
- Kayla Chang and Kelly McGuigan added two hits apiece for Williams.
- The Ephs' Elyse Chan collected her second win of the season with three strikeouts. Chan allowed four runs on nine hits and three walks in seven innings.

Hamilton will host Bates College (10-6, 4-2) for another NESCAC doubleheader on Saturday, April 15 starting at noon.
