JAN PHYL VILLAGE, Fla. – The Hamilton College Continentals improved their record to 5-3 with non-conference wins against Rutgers University-Camden and Ramapo College of New Jersey at Auburndale Softball Complex on Friday.
Hamilton broke a 4-4 tie with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and posted an 8-4 victory against Rutgers-Camden in the first game. The Continentals took a 6-2 lead against Ramapo with a four-run fifth and went on to an 11-6 triumph.

How It Happened
- Hamilton struck first with one run on one hit in the first inning. Katlynn McGivney '23 ripped a single and stole second and third base. Alison Zorn '26 plated McGivney on a fielder's choice.
- The Scarlet Raptors took a 2-1 lead in the top half of the second inning on five hits.
- The Continentals capitalized on three errors and scored a pair of runs in the third for a 3-2 advantage.
- Rutgers-Camden knotted the score in the fourth on a hit and an error.
- Hamilton answered with another run in the bottom of the inning on a hit and an error. Mikayla Worzel '23 led off with a single and advanced to scoring position after Alessandra Priante '24 reached first on an error. Sofia Santana '26 drove Worzel home on a groundout.
- The Scarlet Raptors evened the score a third time with one run in the fifth inning.
- The Continentals had their best inning in the sixth with four runs on three hits and two errors. Santana and McGivney hit one-out singles and Emma Tansky '25 smacked a timely double that scored Santana. Zorn reached on an infield error that drove in McGivney. Ella Heftved '25 scored Tansky on another infield error and Samantha Smith '23 plated Zorn on a groundout.

How It Happened
- The Continentals took an early lead with one run on three hits in the opening frame. McGivney led off with a single to left field. Zorn singled to left field and Charlie Quinn '25 knocked a single to left field that plated McGivney.
- Hamilton added a run in the third inning on one hit. McGivney drew a walk and Tansky followed with a single to left field. Beebe reached on a fielder's choice to second base and McGivney scored on the throw.
- Ramapo responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning and tied the score on two hits and two Hamilton errors.
- After a scoreless fourth inning, the Continentals racked up four runs on four hits in the fifth inning. McGivney roped a leadoff double down the left field line and Hamilton had runners on the corners after Tansky reached first on a fielding error. Zorn drove McGivney home on a single to left. Quinn plated Tansky on a single to center field and Zorn scored on a single to right by Heftved. Smith's groundout drove in Quinn.
- The Roadrunners countered with three runs on three hits in the bottom half and pulled within a run at 6-5.
- Hamilton rallied for five runs in the final frame on five hits and two errors. Santana's pinch-hit, two-run single with the bases loaded and nobody out made it 8-5.
- Teagan Graham '25 allowed one run on three hits in the bottom half and Tansky re-entered the circle. After another single loaded the bases, she shut down the Roadrunners' last chance with a pop-up and a ground ball to second.

- Hamilton handed Ramapo – another member of the NJAC -- its third loss in 14 games this season.
- Tansky earned her third win in the circle. She struck out four and allowed three earned runs in 5.1 innings pitched.
- Zorn led Hamilton at the plate with four hits and two runs batted in.
- McGivney finished with three hits, including a double, a walk and scored four runs.
- Quinn went 3-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs.
- Tansky and Heftved had two hits apiece.
- Ramapo's Katie Rygiel and Jaclyn Monaco tallied three hits apiece.
